The service was fantastic. The view tremendous and the food tasty. Excellent fish and chips and clam chowder. The calamari was the best I ever had.

There are a number of eating establishments in the shopping area bordering Kailua Bay - most offer average fare and/or way above average prices. One would expect that this would be the epitome of this kind of establishment as it sits almost opposite the pier where cruise ship passengers arrive. It has open air windows above the side walks, menus... More

We recently spend 10 wonderful days on the Big Island - early January is a great time to visit Hawaii! We stayed outside of Kona, but as we had a rental car, it was an easy 15 minute drive to the waterfront. We had walked past Fish Hopper a couple of times, but one evening we decided we would come... Came for a quick bite at dinner time. We sat at the bar and ate from the bar menu. All choices were very good. I tried the next morning to go to Splasher's for breakfast but didn't want to wait so I came back here. Excellent decision if I must say so myself. They make their own hash and it... More

I have been to kona a few times and went here for the first time on this trip. The ahi was amazing so I had to go back and try the filet a few nights later. Equally amazing. The service and atmosphere did not disappoint either. Enjoy!!

Never heard of Monchong until this visit. Great mild fish. We also had the Opakapaka. Very fresh, simply prepared, great. The restaurant itself is like several other waterfront locations in Kailua, nice, not spectacular, but this place knows how to prepare fish!

The food and service were very good. The menu has a good selection of popus and entree's. We had calamari and the sword fish entree. The portions were ok and quality good. The view of the ocean is good and there was parking on the street nearby. The only draw back I thought it was a bit pricey, but not... More

OMG, "THE" best meal we ate in 10 days in Kona. Make sure you visit and eat there for lunch and dinner a few times. THE best toasted piña colada in the world. WE ate a local fish with Risotto........spectacular and my husband has the seafood Fettuccine Alfredo. The best I have ever eaten. The calamari starter was awesome. The... More

We stopped in twice for happy hour and we sere very impressed. The décor and staff were excellent. Draft beer and well drinks are $4 during happy hour. On our first visit we tried the fried calamari and it was the best ever. It was lightly breaded and fried to perfection. The scratch made tarter and cocktail sauce finished it... More
