Great Steak Escape!

If you're in the mood for steak, definitely try this place! I only took one bite from my husband's bone-in ribeye, but it was delicious! I opted for their fish special and our teenage daughter ordered the seafood pasta. She was able to order a smaller portion (less seafood, but same amount of... read more

Pro: Good food; nice roasted beet salad and an ordinary diner salad. Good steaks, great macadamia nut ice cream cake. Cons: Expensive wine, even by the glass ($15--25.00/ per glass). Too many different servers. The 'head waiter (?)' could not bring us bread; the 'bread server waiter' could only do that. Even the different waiters got confused and brought us... More

Last night we ate at the Hualalai Grill at the Four Seasons for the first time. While wines are pricey, the quality and selection was very good. We regularly eat fresh fish from Kona waters so we all (ourselves and our neighbors) ordered steaks. The women ordered the filet and the men ordered the New York Strip. We all had... More

The Grille is a very strange place. We had five uncoordinated people waiting on us. This was not organized service just people who were tripping over each other. Three people asked to take our cocktail order. The person who introduced himself as the one who would be taking care of us disappeared after the introduction. It was a very annoying... More

not excellent but very good. service is excellent. fish was just st the brink of overcooked. a side lobster tail was perfectly cooked and delicious, heirloom tomato salad shared and good but very light on the mozzarella, no dessert tasted (only 3 to choose from) and the bill came to about $105 with only 1 entrée and no drinks. .... At first the service was non existent. It did get better as the evening went on. The porterhouse steak, 24 oz., was shared and it was cooked perfectly and very tasty. All side dishes are separate and I chose the Mac and cheese which is a meal in itself. A little too creamy, rich and sharp but lots of it.... More

I had one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. The setting is very nice. The wine list is excellent. We did have a couple of things that weren't awesome: 1. Our waiter had no clue about the wine list. Literally knew nothing more than what was written. 2. We had to ask 3 times to speak with someone who... More

Our first meal on the Big Island - and it was hard to beat. I started with the cucumber basil gimlet - totally refreshing and tasty. And then we were onto entrees - I had the fish special, a crab encrusted mahi, which was so delicious. My husband had a perfectly grilled steak with chimichuri sauce that he devoured. We... More

I have mixed feelings about this dining experience. The food was good but not outstanding. Our waiter was very accommodating and not only made substitutions for us but brought additional sides that we did not order which was a really nice offering. However, as kind as our waiter was the service was painfully slow. The restaurant was severely understaffed and... More

Every year our group tries a different restaurant for TG dinner. How could we go wrong with the Four Seasons? Even with the inflated price for turkey dinner how could we go wrong? When we made the reservation a week ago I was told it would be a 3 course meal. Salad, dinner plate and dessert. Drinks were very good... More
