An amazing eating experience

The best French restaurant in Hawaii, and in the top 10 overall restaurants (of any cuisine). Run by a husband (chef) and wife (server) team, this is a restaurant for serious foodies. Very classy, and the staff know the right balance between friendly service and professional attitude. Don't go... read more

Really excellent food if you are tired of the merely good offerings in Kona. Perfectly prepared. Options include duck, rack of lamb, veal sweetbreads and more. I recommend the chocolate souffle. Great wine list.

Hard to imagine a French dinner when in Kona, but La Bourgogne tries to provide the experience. Food was acceptable to all our group, but not 'best in the world.' Wines were enjoyed, but pricey. Bring your wallet.

When I used to come to Hawaii to visit, I always discarded the idea of eating in a French restaurant with no view. I have lived here many years now, and it took all this time to decide to try La Bourgogne. I really missed out for a long time. The menu is varied without being burdensome. As I studied... More

I recently visited this restaurant while on vacation in Kona. Even with advance notice, they were not able to make a reservation for our entire traveling party of 9, but we did get a table for 6. After seeing the size of the dining room, I can understand why. My party had frog's legs and baked brie as appetizers, both... More

This is a lovely resto with excellent French food in a lovely atmosphere that takes you right out of Hawaii and into very good French dining. the atmosphere is lovely in this small, intimate resto with very friendly, warm service that was excellent and efficient. i am assuming that the hostess is the owner and she is lovely, friendly, very... Celebrated my birthday here after reading reviews. Call well ahead to insure you can get a reservation. Only 10 tables. Personal service and wonderful food. Owner and wife very pleasant. No windows, so don't plan on having an ocean view. Feels like a French farmhouse. Too full for dessert this trip. Highly recommend

After reading several good reviews of this restaurant, we decided to try it on our last night in Kona. The food was absolutely delicious, particularly the seared duck liver (or foie gras), which was followed by duck for me (very good!) and venison (also very good) for hubby. We even opted for desserts, being creme brulee and apple tatin, both... More

Lovely French restaurant in Kona...you would never guess from looking at the outside that the inside reminds you of a lovely French cafe. Food was extraordinary using fresh ingredients from the island! As a matter of fact, we ran into the owner at the organic market the next morning where he was getting items for that night's meal! If you... More

We are regulars here for almost 20 years . Colleen and Ron are your hosts and chef. The food is excellent witha wine list that is very very reasonable with a host of fine wine. The place is quite small and reservations are a must but it is well worth it. The typical French dishes like onoin soup and lobster... More
