Lovely dinner

I recently visited this restaurant while on vacation in Kona. Even with advance notice, they were not able to make a reservation for our entire traveling party of 9, but we did get a table for 6. After seeing the size of the dining room, I can understand why. My party had frog's legs and... read more

This is a lovely resto with excellent French food in a lovely atmosphere that takes you right out of Hawaii and into very good French dining. the atmosphere is lovely in this small, intimate resto with very friendly, warm service that was excellent and efficient. i am assuming that the hostess is the owner and she is lovely, friendly, very... Celebrated my birthday here after reading reviews. Call well ahead to insure you can get a reservation. Only 10 tables. Personal service and wonderful food. Owner and wife very pleasant. No windows, so don't plan on having an ocean view. Feels like a French farmhouse. Too full for dessert this trip. Highly recommend

After reading several good reviews of this restaurant, we decided to try it on our last night in Kona. The food was absolutely delicious, particularly the seared duck liver (or foie gras), which was followed by duck for me (very good!) and venison (also very good) for hubby. We even opted for desserts, being creme brulee and apple tatin, both... More

Lovely French restaurant in Kona...you would never guess from looking at the outside that the inside reminds you of a lovely French cafe. Food was extraordinary using fresh ingredients from the island! As a matter of fact, we ran into the owner at the organic market the next morning where he was getting items for that night's meal! If you... More

We are regulars here for almost 20 years . Colleen and Ron are your hosts and chef. The food is excellent witha wine list that is very very reasonable with a host of fine wine. The place is quite small and reservations are a must but it is well worth it. The typical French dishes like onoin soup and lobster... More

I've been in La Bourgogne 3 or 4 times and it was great every time. The food is very good and the owners I think are very nice. I see that some customers who wrote bad reviews complain that the owners were rude; I don't know of course what this is about but I suspect that this is just lack... More

Four of us had a celebration dinner here. The food is good and the owner/operators are very cordial. The chocolate soufflé dessert was excellent - the tarte tatin was OK.

Such a treat from the Island food that we love. Sometimes it's just nice for a change. Excellent food, menu selection brilliant choices, great service and cute atmosphere. A price comparable to any of the fine dining restaurants in town. Well worth the treat! Make reservations there are only 40 seats available and they fill up. Walk ins not advised... More

Honestly, one of the best meals I have had. Five of us cleaned our plates of rabbit, wild boar, sweet breads and the fish of the day. Everything from the decor to the bread to the pumpkin soup, and beet salad, to the main courses and deserts was terrific. We have been to Paris several times. It was like being... More
