Great Setting

We just missed happy hour, try for it 2-5pm. Setting lovely, open air bar and restaurant area, looking out to a green lawn with water just beyond. Nice appetizers and good drink. Bar tender a bit standoffish.

The location of course is incredible, views out to the ocean, open air, grassy park with huge palm trees. Sitting at the bar we like the best, however they do have tables. Huge sails are moved in and out by pulleys that can shade your table. The Calamari comes in big strips, much like abalone and is amazing. The Mai... More

This was a nice restaurant with a great ocean side view and a bit of history in the restaurant...the ceiling fans are all interconnected by a belt driven system - it was something to see! The menu had a good selection and we enjoyed our meals. It was enjoyable to sit and look out at the ocean.

Great view, awesome service (my husband had coleslaw & asked why it didn't have pineapple in it, the waitress went over to the bar & took fresh pineapple, cut it up & brought it to him to add to his coleslaw ! That's customer service lol Nice when service is over the top

Had lunch here. The view is terrific, right on the beach in the middle of downtown Kailua. Service was excellent. The food is good but not great as we've seen in previous visits. Great place for drinks and good place to eat.

This place has a magical atmosphere. The entire restaurant and bar has a view of the water. It's open with a great breeze that comes through and close you off. The restaurant is wonderful and the bar is huge and long and comfortable. Kelly was our bartender and very friendly and gave us great ideas of where to go and... More

This was an absolutely wonderful dining experience for our party of six. A long leisurely dining evening with good friends, good conversation, good food, and good service in a beautiful setting. A great respite from the frequent "shove the food at them and get them out to make way for the next table of tourists" experience. The food, especially the... More

Get a table overlooking the water. And then get the macadamia nut encrusted mahi mahi with plum glaze. It was the best meal I had during my entire vacation. The Kona coffee ice cream was pretty good, too! Service was excellent and the prices were reasonable. Eat here when you're in Kona.

This Restaurant is still the same as when it serviced the Destination Resort Visitors brought to the Islands by Steamship. It is all wood and looks like the inside of a ship. Food is Good (expensive) but they offer the best Sunset Viewing location. The Resorts Rooms and now converted to cute shops, galleries and jewelry stores. Spend a few... More

Kona Inn is a must try. We've been there dozens of times over a couple decades. The food has always been great. The few times something wasn't perfect, the staff would immediately make it right. The dining is on the waterfront with a great view of the harbor and sunset. The prices reasonable meaning average to downright cheap.
