Been going to the Kona Inn for probably 20 years now while vacationing on the Big Island. If I ever have a Mai Tai any other place, it's disappointing. We love to sit at the bar and look out at the ocean. Servers are excellent; many have been there for years. Their Mai Tai recipe has 3 different rums; need... More

Our service is always good. The fresh ahi and calamari sandwich is delicious. Great Mai Tai's as well. One of our favorites after 14 years of visits.

We have eaten here before and had better food. Usually i am excited to have dinner at the Kona Inn. Really love the atmosphere and the food. However this time my fish was really overcooked, very dry. A real disapointment.

Only a lawn and beach separate your view from the ocean; so target a reservation for sunset. The entree's were very good but expecct to prices comparable for a nice dinner. The special at the time (perhaps perpetual?) was a 'three fish' plate that I would order again; it was great! They have a 'happy hour' to consider if you're... More

SOME OF THE PEOPLE ARE STILL THERE TOO. THE BARTENDERS ARE GREAT. SOME OF THE FOOD SERVERS ARE AS GOOD AS YOU CAN GET. Food is usually top notch and tough to beat. Location is likewise. It is a good spot to watch the start of the Ironman on the lawn this Saturday. I imagine they will be open in... More

We went out to dinner every night in Kona on our trip. This was the overall best meal the 4 of us had while in Hawaii. Great location. Reasonable prices. Excellent service. Food that was second to none. Drinks were good too. Highly recommend the time to find this location.

really nice view of ocean even at night because the shore has lights on it. The cost is a bit pricey. Ask about Market Price items! MaiTais were not tasty. Our waiter was very good and knowledgable about the island. Very friendly but not Overly talkative. Was a beautiful evening!!!

Delicious food, excellent service, old school atmosphere, beautiful view. Can't get any better than that. It's nice to go to a place that has such a long history; this is a former hotel that opened in the 1920s. The décor is classic yet updated; you feel as if you are dining in an historic location, but there is nothing shabby... More
