Want literal local flavor? Then by all means motor or walk to Big Island Grill for lunch. This is where the locals eat: flavorful food, huge portions and low prices for the amount of food you get. Fish and chips? Tasty, fresh ono! (Have also had mahi here as well.) The LocoMoco is something everyone should try and the Grill... More

I went with two friends to the Big Island Grill on Tuesday. They both had Chicken Katsu, I hadthe Loco Moco with hamburger. I tried one small piece of Chicken Katsu, it was all I could manage after consuming most of the Loco Moco. Good food with a very good value. It'a more a diner than a view type place,... More

This use to be our favorite spot in Kona since they openned, however, our first stop this trip was disappointing. The meals we had were our favorites here but the portions and quality were definitely down from the past. Will probably try once more but maybe not. Kona area seems to have two types of food: high priced fancy or... More

You feel like a local when you walk through the door of this fabulous diner. Not only are the portions generous, they are delicious. Enjoy local favorites as well as traditional dishes. Yum!

A wonderful spot for breakfast to start your day in Paradise. Excellent value and lots of coffee and don't forget to sign in at the desk to be seated. There is always a line up and once you have eaten there you will know why.

Good price and good food. Coffee shop style with fast and friendly service. Good Loco Moco with different variations. We ate there twice on our last trip and will go there again.

Large portions, good menu variety, nice staff. This is a local favorite, very reasonably priced. Really tasty for breakfast, and my favorite stop for a lunch or dinner salad (as entrée), 'cause it's hard to get a decent salad on the Big Island. Large restaurant, family style eating. If on vacation, add this gem to your list, and perhaps skip... More

We found this local gem of a restaurant from the recommendations of our tour books. We ate there 3 times in 4 days due to the tasty food and reasonable prices. The type of food could be described as "Hawaiian" given that the restaurant featured an entire page on its menu of local food. Our 14-year-old grandson from Maui especially... More
