The entire big island is a bit disappointing when comes to restaurant selection but this was one of the places where we really enjoyed the meal. Price is quite reasonable and food was great. The service could use a bit of improvement.

This restaurant has been a lunch stop for us many times. We keep going back for more. It is very cold inside, might want to bring a sweater, but very refreshing on a hot day. You must try the combo plate with teriyaki steak and chicken katsu. Opt for the mashed potatoes (homemade) and grilled vegetables. The portions are big... More

We searched reviews for good, local food while in Kailua-Kona, not wanting typical tourist fare. Unfortunately, while the service was very friendly, the prices ran from $12++ for lunch, the food was very "heavy" (but plentiful), and there wasno atmosphere whatsoever.

Came here after picking up my sister and her family from the airport. Even though it was nearly closing, they accommodated us with smiles and great service. My husband, brother in law and niece all had the fish (opah) and chips--delicious, meaty fish, perfectly fried in tempura batter, not at all greasy. Chips (french fries) were just okay. I had... Read about this restaurant on Tripadvisor, and dropped by. Not disappointed - good food, decent portions, and great service. The locals eat here too, it can't be bad. We had breakfast here twice, but the highlight really was dinner - fresh sauteed Opah - delicious!

We were getting ready to head to the airport and wanted one last meal in Hawaii. I spotted this place earlier and throught since it's on the road to the airport, gas station next door let's go! It was packed and I let my husband go on in while I secured a parking place. He said when he walked in... More

Local style, tasty, large portions, friendly staff, what more can you ask for? Service is a little slow but hey, you're in Hawaii so slow down. Try to enjoy the good vibes of this place! These folks do a great job. Try the Chicken Katsu. Amazing Panko breading, light, not greasy. The Korean Chicken has a great sauce. The local... More

Went to this restaurant because of the reviews from trip advisor. Must say the reviews were right on. It use to be an old McDonalds'. Appears as though a lot of locals ate here. The food was, potions were plentiful and at a reasonable price. My wife had the beef terakihi as it was recommended to here by another person... More
