My meatloaf was tasty, got way too much of it (sent half back when we called er quits) Wife and son were told they had no Ono catch of the day was moonfish. They both ordered it, wife got Ono and son got moonfish. Pass on moonfish, very strong flavor and tough like old rubber.

We always ask "where do the locals hang out?" When you eat in the tourist areas, you see, well, tourists. BIG is classic Hawaiian cooking, and along with Hawaiian Style Cafe, one of our favorite haunts. The LocoMoco is amazing--we've never had a bad meal. Conveniently, BIG is in Kona, so it's close to the action.

When you are traveling and hungry this is a great value establishment. The customer service is refreshing. The food is wholesome and the portions are large. The fresh catch of the day is always good and so are the daily specials and the incredibly large and delicious desserts. Friday and Saturday nights it's busy. I suggest going off hours. I... More

This place was recommended to us for a casual dining experience that was good and wasn't too expensive. I had the teriyaki chicken and my guest had a chicken salad, and both were quite good, and not too expensive. The meal, including tax and tip came out to about $35. I'd happily return to this restaurant.

Generous portions of authentic cuisine! Friendly staff in a place packed with locals. Menu has a great variety and it's probably best described as a fabulous Hawaiian Diner. Prices are reasonable and the quality is great. Desserts are huge and hard to finish with such big portions, so plan on sharing!

This restaurant looks like it is in a building that used to be a McDonalds and there’s no view of the ocean but don’t let that scare you. This is not a place we would have probably gone to eat but a friend had recommended it so we tried it and were glad that we did. In fact, we ate... More

Well if your looking for high quality Zagat rated food(which it stated on the door). Turn around. Run don't walk. The only good thing was the papaya. The food came out in sections and most of the fruit was inedible in the fruit bowl. the eggs came out at the very end. There is not even fresh cream for the... More

Happened to stop in as it always looked busy. We were not disappointed in anything. The amount of food was huge and delicious. Prices were so reasonable we went back 2 more times. If you get dessert don't get anything else because it's so much. Yes it was a glorified diner and one of the best places we found in... More

What a great local place. We ate here 4 time (2 breakfast, 2 dinner). We found on an earlier visit and my son 16 at the time loved it. Food is fantastic, people very friendly, family owned and run. Great place.
