Great Neighborhood Place

Great Neighborhood Place. Good for tourists and us locals. Has all the basics, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, local favorites and specialties, all in a very casual and friendly location. Medium prices.

My husband and I came for a late lunch - and the restaurant was still almost full. What they lack in ambiance, they make up for in quality food and good prices. My husband had the B.I.G. Saimin (Salmin noodles topped with pork, scrambled eggs, won ton, shrimp and green onions in broth). The bowl was large and he was... More

We had friendly and quick service, great food, big portions, and all at very reasonable prices tonight. It is off the main drag, and there isn't the ambiance you would find at Huggo's, but I had delicious teriyaki beef, kalua pork, red mashed potatoes, and sauteed veggies for like $13! My husband had very fresh fish and chips. We welcomed... More

It was the only restaurant we ate at twice during our recent two week stay in Kona. Food was very good and plentiful. Seemed to be very popular with residents of Kona. It is not fancy.

I have made this a regular stop anytime I visit Kona...The servers and management make you feel like family as soon as you come through the door....It's a popular place for locals and has great food for reasonable prices. It is an Ohana place.

Had dinner at BIG, and enjoyed it immensely. You do not come here for a fancy meal. Instead, this is well done basic American classics and Hawaiian specialties at a reasonable price. The Kalua pork and cabbage was great.

This is not a fancy place, kind of like a cafeteria but really good food and full of the Aloha spirit. I had the marinated Sirloin steak with white rice and veggies and it was delicious, My wife had a fish dish she had never had before and loved it. So if you want to get away from the $70... More

Wow the portions were huge! All the fish we had tasted fresh and the service was very friendly. Big variety on the menu, save room for dessert. We didn't save room but ate it anyway! The Kona mud pie is highly recommended and more than enough for two. This is the place when you want some local comfort food.

We finally tried this restaurant for dinner after talking about going many times over the four trips we've made here. It does look like a drive-in fast food place in a previous life, but don't let that bother you. It always appears busy, and is often filled with many of the white-haired customers (seniors). But don't let that fool you,... More
