Attractive presentation, food not so much

Last night's dinner started out with a lovely serving of the old standard appetizer shrimp kabob and a tasty margarita with likoli salted rim. Anyone who has been to Thailand will be disappointed. The fragrant aromas that characterize Thai cuisine are missing entirely, the major seasoning being sugar. The Pad Thai was basically noodles with soy sauce; the Tom Yom Kha was an insipid version of that delightfully aromatic coconut milk soup.

Their are plenty of good Thai restaurants in Kailua-Kona, but the menu here is different than you would find in a typical Thai restaurant. That is why we liked it so much and went there twice during our visit. They put more of a gourmet spin on their food. The food s very tasty and well presented. Good service and... More

This place does not need my review. They already have their trip advisor awards and certificates proudly posted, as they should. Clean, yummy and friendly. I tried their lemongrass mussels soup..omg yes!

Fast and friendly service, food is so-so. Skip the calamari. Tempura veggies ok, pineapple shrimp fried rice just didn't taste authentic. Had much better variety Thai food at a farmers market in Waimea. 2 stars for the food we had, maybe other choices would be better. 3 stars for reasonable prices and service.

They had an endless loop of "epic fails," people falling down and hurting themselves comically (at best), showing on their TV set and it was super distracting. Small bar, small restaurant. Good service, great food.

We had dined here on our last trip to Big Island and it was so good. Reviews still looked good, so we returned. It was still so yummy! My hubs got the orange shrimp and I got the shrimp panang curry...YUM! You do have to remove shrimp tails, but we're willing to do a little work for our dinner. It... More

The calamari wasn't seasoned well, tasted bland and the mayo was overpowering the dish, bbq short ribs was pretty decent. Salt and pepper wings was pretty good too. Server didnt seem too happy thou while serving but probably just had a bad day. All in all its pretty decent.... will i come back? Probably.

The food was not my favorite. I would go to a Sushi or Thai restaurant over Lemongrass Bistro. The service was fine.
