Excellent Food

The food was very flavorful and nicely presented. We tried both dishes at the Thai hot level, on their scale a 7 out of 10 for heat. We were not sure what to expect as several other reviews said 4 out of 10 was too hot but then heat us subjective. Next time we'll bump the meal up a couple... read more

My wife and I tried this restaurant for the first time last week. Its a pity we had not found it before now. We love Thai food and have eaten it all over the world so feel we are authorities! All dishes we ordered were good and the service was absolutely fine. The location is off the main tourist area... More

ok, we tried many dishes here and most were average. nothing to make you say mmm this is good. and then there was the pad thai. am i crazy or is pad thai probably the most common dish ordered in a thai restaurant and therefore should be pretty straight foreword give or take some changes. this pad thai however, was... This place is a long block back from Ali'i Drive so you have to look for it. If you like Thai cuisine it is worth the effort. Service is attentive but the pace is leisurely so don't go if you want a quick meal. The food is always very good. The room is not fancy but pleasantly finished. No liquor... More

We enjoyed the food here, although we wish we would have asked for it to be spicier, miscommunication on our part. No complaints. We would go back.

We found the green papaya salad and the Volcanic Duck very good. The spring rolls were standard. The restaurant itself is comfortable but not very inviting. One furnishes their own wine but there is no corkage fee. Service was good.

We come to the Big Island often and we have eaten here 5 times. The food is the closest to the Thai food that we had when we were in Thailand. They make everything fresh to order...nothing sitting in steam tables! Our favorites are the grilled beef salad and the chicken with cashew nuts. I have to admit that their... More

Don't drive by and think it's not worthy, it certainly is. I continue to look forward to returning to Kona for many many reasons but this Thai food is one of those reasons! It does not look like much, however it is very clean. Their is enough English to make sure your order is perfect for your taste, both in... More

Great menu, great staff, and great location in Kona! Enjoy Thai while in the islands...we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Krua. You may have to wait but I believe they take reservations as several tables were reserved.

Krua Thai does not have a liquor license. But that only disturbs my wife since I don't drink. Aside from that Krua Thai has a "volcanic" duck recipe that was absolutely superb! Duck is tricky to prepare, and most of my experiences have ranged from pretty good to flatly awful., This was one of the finest, if not the best... More
