This was probably our most enjoyable meal on the Big Island! My husband raved about his teriyaki beef and my daughter and I shared the chicken tenders, which were actually hand-breaded good chicken tenders, not a chicken cutlet cut into strips after cooking as she had a couple of times on the Big Island. We highly recommend this one!

Maybe other things are good there, but don't get the TACO SALAD. Guacamole tasted spoiled and the meat was huge chunks like they broke it off an old hamburger patty and the seasoning was awful on the meat. Two taco salads went back to the kitchen.

We walked right by this place several times figuring it was strictly a mediocre tourist joint with a view of the water. After sampling the very reasonably priced Bloody Marys, we returned once for dinner and again for breakfast. I had an excellent burger and my girlfriend had the ahi poke. I was also impressed with the eggs benedict (&... More

Wanted a place where my family and I could enjoy for my birthday breakfast. This place is perfect. Accommodated a family of 10, decently priced, Ono (delicious) food, and great, friendly service! I had the Bongo Ben omelet and my daughter had the loco moco. Another person in our party said it is the best pancakes she ever had on... More

Came here our last morning before we left that evening. Place was packed and rightfully so. Food was so good for breakfast. I had the famous Eggs Benedict with a side of avocados. So good, I finished my whole plate. Service was good as well. A must to try!

First let me say you can't get much better a view for breakfast. Now, as to food and service - you can do better at home. Or at many other places. Seated quickly - big plus. Didn't get water until after we ordered. Big minus. Didn't get coffee until we were already mad - unforgivable. Oh, and no decalf as... More

Didn't plan on eating there, but since our son didn't want to come out for dinner, we decided to go somewhere convenient. We only had an appetizer, the french fries, but ordered a to-go plate of steak fingers and fries. The appetizer we had was really good. My son really liked the steak fingers and fries...there were veggies of some... More

This is the only place on the island that I have found that serves grits. Being from the south this is a special place for me to eat breakfast. One of the best breakfasts that isn't a buffet.

The Mai Tais are a must! Best ever! We ate at Bongo Ben's twice during our visit. The four of us sat at the bar facing the street and the ocean which gave an awesome view of the town and great people watching. Everything we ordered was delicious…coconut onion rings, burgers, poke bowls and spinach strawberry salad. Everything was fantastic... More

Went for breakfast yesterday. Great view of the harbor and people watching. Bloody Marys and mimosas for $3.50. We both enjoyed the catch of the day. I had it with eggs, potatos and toast and my wife had the catch benedict with fruit. Really tasty fish prepared just right!
