Good choice on the menu. The beer battered shrimps were excellent, we went there for a second night as my husband enjoyed them so much. I had a pizza on the first night it was fine but not one of the best I have had but I also had the shrimps on the second night and they were excellent. The... read more

Great view along the rocky shore; food was mediocre and the service was about the same. We sat for what seemed like an eternity before the waitress took our order...I guess they want you to really enjoy the view. I ordered an Ahi Tuna Melt that was mostly bread, fries,were.....well, just fries. Between the obnoxiously loud music ( and I'm... More

Overall, we enjoyed our meal at Bongo Ben's. The food is average, except for the coconut onion rings, those are delicious. The view is great, try to sit on the patio and the atmosphere is alive. Prices are great and I would recommend this restaurant to others.

Was here on Father's Day evening (our plans got changed at the last minute) and the food was just average. Portions were plentiful for the price. View was very nice! Service was fast- but couldn't get the waitress to ever refill our drinks.

if only the food and service was as nice as the views out to Kailua Bay! I've been to Bongo Ben's three times now, and it really is hit or miss on all levels. While being a top spot for people watching on Ali'i Drive and with admirable ocean views, its food quality and service often lets it down. We... More

This place is very conveniently located and is close to everything in Kona. The menu has a lot of variety and is reasonably priced. The food is good but the servers seemed to be a bit over worked.

I wish we had discovered Bongo Ben's earlier in our vacation. We had 1 dinner and 1 breakfast there -- both times the food and service were very good. The prices run about the same as everywhere in Kailua-Kona but we had so much more food we had to ask for a take-out box.

Great location with nice views of the ocean. I went twice while I was in Kona, once for breakfast and once for dinner. For the breakfast I got the yogurt and granola, served in a fresh papaya. It was delicious! The service was OK. For the dinner I decided to try the pizza, as the menu said that all their... More

If you ever visit the city of Kailua-Kona, Bongo Bens is where you need to eat. Located on the main drag in the small village, we decided to have lunch one day while exploring the town. We had lunch and along with a Mai-Tai. Our waiter seated us infront, so we had a ocean view and could people watch also.... More
