We had lunch here while in Kona. Atmosphere was good, food was prepared timely and was good. Good location in Kona.
Dined there three times - D-B-D... fast and friendly service each time. A good range of food though a lot of the menu is battered or deep fried... Salad menu is healthier alternative. BIG meals!!
I have to say, out of all the places I've had fish and chips, this place has the best I've ever had. That light tempura batter and crispy golden brown on the outside was perfect with meaty chunks of fish. Upgraded the fries to bacon cheesy, throw in a pint, patio and view of the water across the street, makes... More
I thought the food was fine but nothing special. If you want something authentically Hawaiian this is not the place to go, but if you're hungry for a taste of home you can find some more traditional mainland US meals here. Nice location near the water. Also my waitress was nice but awful at her job, kept entirely forgetting to... More
We live in Kailua-Kona and try to have breakfast at Bongo Ben's every Saturday or Sunday morning. The view is spectacular, atmosphere is laid back, prices are excellent, and the food is great any time of the day. The $3 Bloody Mary's make breakfast perfect. Staff is very friendly and attentive.
We spent March 4-26, 2014 in Kailua-Kona. We ate at Bongo Ben's about 12 times during our stay. The first day we had breakfast while looking out at the ocean and saw spinner dolphins! The omelettes were very tasty and came with a half papaya and coffee,. We ate dinner there often and really enjoyed the fresh Mahi. The staff... More

Went to Bongo's on our last night in Kona. My seafood scampi was OK and the service good . However my wife had the pulled pork fajita. That night she got sick and threw everything up Sunday morning. She is (3 days later) still recovering. Sunday was our long trip back to Colorado which included killing 9 hours without a... More
Yum, one of my favorite breakfast spots. Incredible bloody Mary's or mimosas. THEY HAVE GRITS- my favorite breakfast side. I have to go at least three times a trip. The eggs Benedict is very good. We saw spinner dolphins in the ocean while eating our breakfast which was quite a treat.
