Expensive but superb location & attentive servers

Eating out in Hawaii is not cheap, especially not at Huggo's. But when you sit on a lanai set out over the ocean and watch a beautiful sunset, it's worth the splurge! My husband and I always visit Huggo's for at least one dinner during vacation, and this time we brought along our friends & enjoyed... read more

We had our anniversary dinner here. It was a perfect choice. We watched the sunset to the sound of the waves crashing below us. Later they had live music they continued the special experience. I had the island fresh catch and it was a combination of spicy, sweet and creamy. My husband had the seafood fettuccine with macadamia nut pesto... More

Every time we visit the island, we set aside one night for our expensive dinner, and every time we head to Huggo's. Don't get confused- you want to eat at Huggo's, not Huggo's on the Rocks. Save that for after dinner drinks, people watching, and live music. Yes, Huggo's is expensive, but it's worth it for many reasons. Servers are... More

After enjoying Huggos on the Rocks a couple of evenings, we tried Huggos Restaurant and enjoyed it as well. A more expensive, fine dining menu. We each had entrees that we enjoyed along with another beautiful view.

I think they forgot to pour the liquor in my drinks. $40 and 2 hours later, I am still waiting to catch a buzz. Great atmosphere and music though.

My husband and I ate here and it was worth the half hour drive from Waikoloa. We had the best seat and were able to catch an even better sunset. Our waiter, Woody, was awesome! He treated us like we were friends, but with attentive service to meet our every question/needs. He even brought us dessert for our anniversary! It... More

We go to Huggo's for special occasions, most notably Valentine's Day, when they have a special menu, with a set dinner for a set price. It's always good, but the thing you have to remember about this restaurant, is that it is expensive. The setting is over the sea. The ocean breaks underneath your feet. The restaurant is built above... More

Went here to say good bye to some friends and do so while watching the sunset. All the tables are well located, closer to the ocean the better of course. The reception and service were friendy and attentive. The sunset was fabulous but no green flash tonight. The food is very good. I would lean to the pastas next time... More

Nice location and good food, but slow service. Our waiter was all over the place, and after saying he'd bring bread, and then asking for bread when our food came, he finally brought it when we were taking our last bites. When I said that it was a little late, his respinse was that he still had to leave it.... More
