Food was very very good. Prices were Kona prices-food is expensive on this island. However you get large portions and excellent service. The fish was always fresh and you had many choices as to how it was prepared. Menu was varied. Desserts were very good. This restaurant has been around for a long time and is very popular with the... This was the best meal we have had in three weeks in and around Kona. We ate at the Four Seasons the previous night, and found the food here better at about half the price. I had the fish of the day which was very fresh and prepared perfectly. My wife had the Pupu Platter, which was surprisingly good and... More

This was our fist stop to eat in Kona. I loved the openness and bright colors. We ate a late lunch. I had the Poke Ahi. My husband had the fish - Ono. Both of them were fantastic! Each left us wanting more. The service was excellent and if there hadn't been so many places to try, we would have... More

Jackie Rey's was right up the street from our rental condo, it was recommended in our Blue Book (Hawaiian tour book) so we figured, 'why not'?? Anyway it was probably the nicest meal we had for the price; attentive and friendly wait staff, great food, dessert, wine and food selection. Would not hesitate to go again and would recommend it... Every time we're on the big island we go to Jackie Rey's and we've never been disappointed. This time we both started with a Caesar salad which came with anchovies. When was the last time you were served a Caesar salad with anchovies!! My husband had the special of the day, mani mahi served with stir-fried vegetables; he said it... More

Some locals suggested we try this restaurant. We were not disappointed. It is located a couple of blocks up hill and behind the main tourist area. We were a party of 6 and made a last minute booking. The service was friendly and helpful explaining local fish items we weren't familiar with. The menu is a mixture of seafood, and... More

It's always easy to go back to a restaurant when you know the food is very, very good, the service is excellent and the greeting friendly. Locals and visitors alike are warmly welcomed. The special of the day was teriyaki beef and tempura shrimp and excellent. The open face pork sandwich was delicious. The servings are ample, the Bloody Mary's... More

Our family went there for lunch after surf lesson in Kona. It was only 5 miles away from the surf location. We were not disappointed. The ahi poke was delicious and the catch of the day was fresh off the boat! There were lots of locals/regulars hugging each other and the waiters/waitresses. It gave a family feel to the restaurant.

We ate here on the first night of our honeymoon and it was perfect. I had the breaded Ono with wasabi and teriyaki sauces and a side of purple sweet potatoes - it was all fantastic. My husband loved the crab cakes and I had a good mojito. We never would have found this little place if it wasn't recommended... More
