Great food!

We made reservations for 5:00pm, which is when they open on Sunday night. We were seated in the window with an ocean view. By 5:30 the place was completely full! Returned to Jackie Rey's again in 2015 as we do every year. After 3 weeks of other restaurants in the Kailua area we still like this restaurant the best. The Mac nut crusted mahi mahi was excellent perfectly cooked and served on a bed of potatoes and veggies. My wife had prawns and ribs which she raved about. Service was... More

Nice atmosphere, good food and efficient wait staff. It was expensive. They gave us a flower when we entered and that was a nice touch. We were seated promptly. We were there in the evening so it was quiet and not too busy, very enjoyable.

It is a VERY busy restaurant. Staff is very friendly, efficient, and busy. We got a booth, and there were no windows....no bugs though. I had the ono catch of the day. My husband had ahi grilled which was delicious. The fish came with accompaniments that went perfectly. It is a busy, lively atmosphere for dinner. Do not expect to... More

We went to Jackie Rey's on recommendation from friends in our condo complex, who rated it as the best restaurant in Kona. The food was fresh, but bland, boring and expensive. What impressed me was the attentive service. The wait staff are very sensitive to things like keeping your water topped up, and making sure you are taken care of.... More

Nice service. Limited parking. My husband had the burger and said it was great. Bright, fun atmosphere. Very relaxed place for families or couples. The salads are very popular there. However, I ordered the tortilla salad with grilled chicken on top. The top was yummy, but there was slimy lettuce underneath. They took it away with a smile and brought... More

We got off the plane hungry and went straight to Jackie Rey's about 4pm. They didn't serve dinner until 5 but they seated is and let us look over the menu and order just before 5. I had grilled scallops and my husband had grilled fish. Both were very good and it was a neat place to begin our trip... More

The fresh catch of the day dinner was awesome! Presentation was unexpected for an outwardly casual appearing restaurant. The server was extremely pleasant and attentive. Beautiful ocean views and great breezes in the restaurant.

This was our 5th trip to the Big Island and our first to Jackie Rey's. I am so sorry we didn't try it out previously. Food is beautifully prepared and delicious. Service is gracious and prices are pretty reasonable given the fact that you are in Hawaii! Dinners were in the $30 range. We also met a local here one... More

Fresh Island fish prepared many ways. Always yum. Try the purple sweet potatoes. Ribs are always a good choice. This family owned-operated restaurant serves the community Thanksgiving and is always welcoming.Great for romantic couples, big eaters, and families-especially mine! Not cheap but a good value. Make a reservation, they are popular.
