An unexpected find in an out-of-the-way place. The entry point for Joshua Tree National Park, 29 Palms is also known for its Marine base. For some reason, Middle-Eastern folks who really know how to cook have landed there. They serve plenty of kabobs, kafta & shawarma; we stuck with the vegetarian food: lemon lentil soup, roasted cauliflower salad, and the absolutely best stuffed grape leaves I've ever eaten. Easy to say, I know, but seriously, these people understand how to spice food in a way that's both subtle and complex. A very satisfying meal.

Out of Business

Was looking forward to dinner after so many positive reviews but it's out of business. The telephone is disconnected as well so it appears as though it's permanent.

While vacationing last weekend to the Twentynine Palms/Joshua tree area I was quite pleased to discover this tasty little restaurant. it was recommended to me highly by a local and so we decided to give it a try . it was about 8 o'clock Sunday evening and I was a bit concerned that they might be closed but I was... If you like middle eastern food check this place out, it's a gem in the desert. The coffee is good too. Like the service.

This town has little to offer but this place and its extensive menu are well worth it! I am full! The fries are unique and delish! We ordered lentils, pita w garlic sauce and gyros. It was all good!

Looks like a hole in the wall kind of place. But don’t be fooled. Everything was delicious. Serving portions were huge. One serving of the mac & cheese side was enough to serve 2 people. Hubby had grilled quail which he still raves about. Service was friendly. Meals were nicely priced as well. Definitely a place to check out if... More

Almost like a diner, very brightly lit, with booths. Server was pleasant, food was excellent. Chicken stir fry, was infused with lemon, nothing like I've had before, so good. The rice was authentic too. Overall very good food, atmosphere to be desired!

Just came back from Palm Kabob House. I must say it does not look like much from the outside, but the inside is well-decorated with comfortable tables and booths. The women's bathroom was enormous and very clean. The appetizers were a delicious lemon lentil soup for me and a house salad for my husband (his vinaigrette was a bit too... More

Palm Kabob House has the best food in the area. Don't be put off by the diner atmosphere. The food is delicious and flavorful. Servings are huge for the price. We both took leftovers back to the hotel to reheat for dinner. I would definitely dine here again.

You don't really expect to find quality middle eastern food in a locale like Twentynine Palms - but that's what you find at Palm Kabob House. They offer a great variety of items. We especially liked the veggie platter and the cauliflower salad. Portions are generous; the leftovers made up part of our picnic lunch the next day.

Don't get me wrong. This place is absolutely delicious if you like Mediterranean food. The grape leaves are amazing. The fries are great too. They're not your typical fries, but more like thick sliced fried potatoes. They're great. I'm calling Palm Kabob average for two reasons. 1: I ended up getting it to go, so I didn't actually eat their... More
