Cuisines: Mediterranean
Description: An unexpected find in an out-of-the-way place. The entry point for Joshua Tree National Park, 29 Palms is also known for its Marine base. For some reason, Middle-Eastern folks who really know how to cook have landed there. They serve plenty of kabobs, kafta & shawarma; we stuck with the vegetarian food: lemon lentil soup, roasted cauliflower salad, and the absolutely best stuffed grape leaves I've ever eaten. Easy to say, I know, but seriously, these people understand how to spice food in a way that's both subtle and complex. A very satisfying meal.

The food here is great, the chicken is out of this world. I loved the rice etc. This is probably the best food in this area, hands down.

Stumbled on to this place while visiting the Marine Corp Base. I had the grilled Lamb with a wonderful side of rice and vegetables. Taste food at a pretty good price.

We were anticipating a flavorful, enjoyable meal. Instead we got extremely slow service, overcooked meats, and below average fare. The salads were good for starters, but the waitress never removed the used salad plates after the main course (finally) arrived. The marinated meats were overcooked to the point of being nearly inedible. The chicken kabob was actually good, as was... More

My husband and I were in the mood for something tasty while on a trip to Joshua Tree National Park. We searched our options and came across this jewel of a restaurant. Not only was the meal delicious, the servings were generous. I didn't want to leave any of this good food behind, so I asked for a box and... More

29 Palms is a little on the sleepy side ... it was open, we like Mediterranean food so sure why not go in?? BEST decision ever ... my husband has NOT stopped talking about the meat shawarma. He usually doesn't obsess over food - that's my job so this entree had to be special. I had the chicken kabobs ...... More

We read the positive reviews of the Palm Kabob House in TripAdvisor so took the advice of other travelers in Twentynine Palms and went there for dinner tonight. It really IS good! We both had the lentil and lemon soup and chicken kabobs and they were great. I got the fries, which are like freshly fried potato chips -- delicious,... More

My wife and I both love middle eastern food and wanted to eat healthy after our day visiting Joshua Tree National Park. The food was authentic and very very well seasoned. I had the lamb pita and my wife had the chicken kebabs. It was perfect. The portions were large enough and the food was prepared in a healthy way.... More

I'm not kidding. This stuff is incredible !!!! Go here !!!!! I love Mediterranean food and eat it all the time in Los Angeles. This little place is superior to any I've ever had. Not sure what they are doing but it is absolutely delicious. Don't miss out if you are in the area.

Our family ordered four different entrees and we all thought everything was very good. Portions are large and the food is nicely spiced and prepared. We especially enjoyed the fatoush salad and lemon lentil soup, but thought the shwarma, kofta and gyro wraps were quite fine too. Too bad the restaurant is so far from our home! If you find... More

It's easy to drive by this whole in the wall place but you'd be making a mistake if you did. I ordered the vegetarian platter with the lemon lentil soup. It is definitely a platter! I only ate half of it and left stuffed. It was all so delicious and fresh (fresh hand made flat bread, mmm). The server was... More
