I would avoid the sushi. The teriyaki bowls were OK, nothing to exciting about this place. It smelled bad and was way to warm inside the business. And they aren't very friendly either!

Just got lunch from this place, carried back to my office. I ordered beef bulgogi and gyoza. The gyoza was very good. Was disappointed that the bulgogi was full of so many carrots and pieces of brocoli. I've travelled a lot and only had bulgogi...with brocoli in it one other time. I'd go back, but definitely ask for no carrots or brocoli in the bulgogi. I wished they had a lunch portion/price with this like they do many other dishes.More
Stopped by one day after work to see if I could get some fresh fish to eat. Ordered some tuna sashimi as that is one of my favorites. What I got though was some kind of shredded tuna shaped into a resemblance to sashimi. Not...good at allMore
Sushi was great ordered 4 dishes first two came in in about 2 minutes and last two five min later, per my request, great service and food presentation, not lazy at all chef knows what he is doing Recommend
Well worth stopping by for dinner. Great food and cute little basic restaurant. We had spring rolls and dumplings followed by chicken teriyaki and friend rice -all delicious. Clearly lots of locals in here too and many eating sushi so that's what we'll try next...time.More
Ok so this place is small Inside and basic but the food was great and excellent value. I had the special beef dish which was really good. Service was very friendly. We would go back if we visit again.
I almost missed this place driving by...the owners should really consider getting a bigger and better sign that says 'Japanese food' or 'Japanese Restaurant' or something!! This is a true hole in the wall place. May not look like much from the outside, but this...little restaurant has a nice lite sushi bar, a few cozy tables, and above all, some very good food! I was pleasantly surprised with the quality, quantity and value of my meal. I grabbed some sushi and some udon noodles (to go) and took them back yo my hotel. Definitely will go to this place again when I visit 29 palms.More
I've been eating at this hidden gem for years. Though it's not gourmet food, for a good home cooked Asian meal (mix of Japanese and Korean) you can't beat this place! The restaurant is a bit small, and with only a few tables you sometimes...have to wait a bit to be seated, but this place is worth the wait. Their spicy Teriyaki is great, but what brings me in each time is their Goyza. The sauce they serve with it is pure perfection and they Goyza themselves are cooked just right. I've spent a lot of time in both Japan and Korea, but the Goyza served here rivals anything I've had in either country. The staff is friendly and the food is great, don't miss out! (Take Note: The only form of payment they accept is cash.)More
Specialty Fruit Drink...Love it! Super bbq Chicken & Beef.
I personally like this restaurant. It has a "Mom and Pop" feel to it. The Sushi is good but, it is limited in range. It does take slightly longer for them to prepare foods but, it allows myself plus company to enjoy the Asian beer....I recommend passerbyers coming into town to partake in the Quaint little experience. Enjoy! A. Jimenez -More
For 29 Palms, it's excellent. On the U.S. scale of sushi it was quite good, but nothing to rave about. A safe bet for some tasty Japanese food, including sushi. We had salad, miso, 3 rolls ($10 each) and the barbecue pork. The pork was...okay (not bad, but I probably wouldn't order it again), but the sushi was quite good. The fish was fresh, had good texture, and wasn't warm. The rolls were nicely put together and presented well. The restaurant itself is a a bit small and slightly... "tacky" -- but it's par for the course out here in the desert. The food was the best we had all week. Recommended.More
