In my ratings 3=meets expectations. 4=exceeds, 5= blown away. I rarely give 5. Expectations are based on experience with similar establishments at similar price point. I've been here maybe a dozen times since it opened and I can finally recommend this place wholeheartedly. Beer selection has always been good, with a heavy emphasis on fairly local stuff. They're serving their... More

Bartender friendly and very helpful. Great Porter on draft. Great Calamari rings, I oreder heavy tenicales and actually got them, , we had 2 orders, & Split a Wedge salid, it , would have been way 2 much for one person.

Went with my husband and daughters to sample some unique beers with appetizers. Beer and food were great a little pricey to other places but worth it to go.

The food was bad, the service was worse. Took out of town guests there and we were very embarrassed!

A great local eatery and bar that is located right on the creek in downtown Martinez. Hosted by a group of very nice folks, they always greet us warmly and welcome us as if we are family. The food is good (nacho's, taco's, burgers and salads) and the beer is always cold. CMTR has a large number of micro-beers on... More

Creek Monkey has excellent potential, but it's not quite there yet. The beer is tasty, but expensive, food is okay, but not great - the sauce on the chicken wings is too thin. Every time I've been in Creek Monkey and that's about a dozen times, I have to carefully watch the bill because most of the time the charges... More

Sorry, but worst fish and chips I have ever had with greasy thick batter and 3 small pieces of fish. Coleslaw was extra and expensive. Shoestring fries were edible. My husband's burger was average, better than the fish and chips. Service was friendly. There were lots of locals there but the food was overpriced and below par compared to other... More

I'm waiting for my ride to pick me up (as usual) from the Martinez, CA Amtrak station, which means time to venture out! A took a short one block walk to a great tap house called Creek Monkey. They pour beer you normally don't see on tap and serve a flavored Cider too. The atmosphere is whimsical and their goal... More

4 of us had lunch and things started out okay. We all had the clam chowder and everybody agreed it was fine. Unfortunately, that was the highlight. 2 people had the fish and chips and said it was plain bad. The breading was too thick and soggy and the fries were overwhelmed by the rosemary sprinkled over them. 1 other... More
