We wandered Black Hills Burger and Bun and were not disappointed. Upgrade to the buffalo version. It's worth the extra $2.50. We tried 3 different burgers from the menu and each one was fantastic. Off the beaten path, also try their hummus, an excellent version served with chips, carrots, celery, cucumbers, and tortilla chips.

I was skeptical. And I do not like to wait. But it was as at least as good as billed. Superb South Dakota beef and buffalo, fresh buns, memorable fries, and all kinds of creative gourmet variations on the standard hamburger. Friendly midwestern service, and cold frothy beverages for every age group. Don't be too discouraged by the line. If... More

The food at this place is great! We've eaten here many times during our stay in Custer this summer. Today they had soup on the menu and was fantastic! It's the best place in town! Very friendly staff.

We had a wait of about 20 to 30 minutes for a table inside a little after 1:00 PM on a weekday. Be advised that they do close in the afternoon between lunch and dinner. When we were seated, it was at a small high top table for two near the kitchen entrance, which wasn't ideal, as it made us... More

So, so happy we stopped here and ate! There was a 45 minute wait for a table but we'll worth the wait. My husband and I both paid the extra 2.50 to get buffalo burgers. A local had told us they going their meat daily and also make every served there fresh and you can definitely taste it. I ordered... More

After reading all the wonderful reviews of Black Hills Burger and Bun, we knew it was a must visit on our recent South Dakota trip. I am SO happy I read the wonderful reviews here and made stopping for a burger a priority. Being warned of long waits, we chose to stop in for lunch at 11:00. Actually we got... More

If you don't think this place is delicious, there is clearly something wrong with you. Their burgers are absolutely amazing, especially the Hot Granny.

Avoid disappointment and get here early as they can run out of burger buns, everything is freshly made by the restaurant themselves. Ate here 2/3 nights we was in the area. A must if you are travelling through here or staying.

Had to go here with my girlfriend after reading about this place in Rapid City Journal and on tripadvisor. Went on a tuesday for dinner, and at 4:50 pm there was already a short line outside, and by 5pm the line was long enough to fill the small resturant. After being seated there was a short wait since the waiters... More

The restaurant is small so you may have a wait. We ate there two evenings and our meals were excellent ; good portion size and flavorful.
