Don't miss this one

Great meal. Customer service at the hotel, restaurant, and gift shop were outstanding. Just wonderful folks. Very helpful with ideas and directions. Food-very good. Rattlesnake-rabbit sausage-yes, do eat with all the trimmings; yes, otherwise a bit bland, but what an experience. Food is... read more

We normally don't like buffets but their buffet had a great variety of good fresh food. Went their with a group of 11 and everyone enjoyed their food. It was a brunch so included breakfast and lunch food that included roasted salmon, pork loin, 3 types of salads, chocolate covered strawberries, fresh fruit.... Cost was $20 with senior price of... Breakfasts are pretty good, and they do have a breakfast buffet. Dinners are fabulous, but a little pricey. They have their own label wines, which are pretty good

We spent almost two weeks all over South Dakota, from the Black Hills cities to Eastern towns like Brookings, and this was the one restaurant where we thought we hit a great restaurant. When visiting a region like this, you'd like to get some interesting fine dining selections like Elk, Bison, etc., but oddly were hard to find. The State... More

After spending several hours driving the Needles Highway and photographing the beautiful scenery, my husband & I arrived at the State Game Lodge where we planned to book a Jeep "safari" of the park. With just 30 minutes until the jeep ride left, we decided to eat lunch. The dining room was empty, until we arrived -- 3 more tables... More

We stopped for breakfast after watching the big horn sheep from the front porch of the lodge. Tourist season was winding down so the summer breakfast Buffett was not available, but the menu options offered a variety for our tastes. Shared the traveler breakfast and blueberry pancakes...and left with full stomachs and only slightly lighter wallets. If traveling in season...HIGHLY... More

The dining room was not crowded during our fall visit. Their buffet was not available as I have enjoyed during the summer months. The food is very good quality and a reasonable number of choices. The atmosphere is very pleasant.

This lodge was Calvin Coolidge's summer white house. Very nicely done. The food was outstanding, the wife had buffalo and i had elk. Price is on the high side but well worth the plurge.

My boyfriend and I ate lunch here before getting ready for a wedding that was held in the State Game Lodge Pavillion. We shared a burger and the empanadas. The empanadas were okay, but the burger was great! I would definitely recommend the burger as it was one of the more normal things on the menu and was not overpriced.... More
