We spent 2 nights in one of the "sleeping cabins," and really enjoyed our stay! It was centrally located in Custer, close to the Wildlife Loop Road and visitor's center. Comforts of a nice motel room, but we felt like we were staying right in the woods! Each cabin has it's own outside area, with a picnic table and campfire... More

My wife and I were staying at the State Game Lodge, just a few miles down the road, and decided to eat dinner here as it is less expensive and more casual than the restaurant at the State Game Lodge - we were not disappointed. This is a rustic setting, fairly small and very casual, with a nice deck overlooking... More

Had lunch here & it was very good. We would definitely return. The location is lovely, slightly rustic atmosphere. The service in the restaurant was very good.

Great casual dining for both breakfast and lunch. Got the best WiFi connection in the park here. Good ice cream, too. Black bean burger was yummy.

You can't beat the setting - beautiful. It wasn't very crowded which seemed to suit the teenagers running the place. That said, our waitress was pleasant and prompt enough. One order, an omelet, was satisfactory. The other order, some variation of bananas foster french toast, was runny and not all that tasty.

We had lunch here with a large group of 16 adults and children. Our server was so efficient and friendly. The food was surprisingly delicious for a restaurant in the middle of a State Park. Two nights before we had eaten at a place in Keystone and had a terrible experience. It was so nice to see that good service... More

We had meals at all four Lodges while in Custer, and Legion Lake was 3rd down on our preference. Food was average but the service was below average. Their sleeping cabin and service to the cabin was above average!

Legion Lake Lodge is less like a lodge and more like a country diner, as someone else said in an earlier review. Checkerboard tablecloths and floor tiles give it a more casual look. That didn't bother us as much as the poor service and average food. We split a taco salad that was mostly fancy lettuce and very little meat.... More

Good food, great view; perfect location between the Black Hills and Custer State Park. Don't miss the outdoor view of the lake..... clean rest rooms and a nice little gift store also.
