Excellent bison steak!

The atmosphere in this place is great. We were seated in the loft and had a TV at our booth. Which was great being we had been on the road for a few days and the teens were jonesing. The bison tenderloin was amazing. You could cut it with a fork and it melted in your mouth. The only complaint... read more

The Buglin’ Bull is much more than one would expect in a small, somewhat remote, village like Custer. Nonetheless, the food and service are excellent. The menu offers such out-of-the-ordinary fare as Elk, Buffalo, etc. Both the food and presentation are very “upscale”, but at a reasonable price. The quality of the food is excellent and preparation is just right.... More

Good food, good beer and friendly staff. The burgers were very good. Thoroughly enjoyed our two visits there.

We had bison (buffalo) served 5 ways - and all 5 were delicious. The menu had lots to offer (besides buffalo!) - and included some unique twists on traditional food (like the pheasant flat bread pizza). Nice location, friendly and efficient waitstaff, cold and delightful flights of beer - and amazing food!

After asking locals for a recommendation, my family ate here. My burger was bigger than the bun and it had no flavor. The 10 parm and garlic fries had no flavor and were cold.

Great food and fast service. We stopped in for an evening meal on Sunday and Hallie was our server. She was attentive and personable. My wife loved the Pineapple Salmon and I had the Tatanka Tenderloin. Both were outstanding. It was a great way to wrap up the 30th Custer High School Reunion for the Class of 85. Looking forward... From the moment we sat down we felt rushed. Our server hovered and couldn't wait to get our orders. The dinner salads were excellent, except that the plate they were served on was so small that it was impossible to cut the greens without dumping them all over the table. Then our dinners arrived before we were even halfway through... More

We had tried to sit in the bar area but were shown to the main restaurant. The food was average and a bit on the pricey side, as were the drinks. The restaurant was very noisy and unfortunately quite a few tables of unruly, young children whose parents had chosen to sit at another part of the restaurant. Our children... More

The line was too long at our first choice so we came here as it was recommended by our hotel. We were disappointed that the sandwich menu in the window was not available. Be careful reading lunch and dinner menus. Limited menu. Nothing appealed to us. We ended up with pizza which was Ok.

We went back recently with a small group because one of the previous times we had been with a large group and wanted to enjoy the place without all the hubbub. Our waitress was terrific, the staff so friendly, the place was clean, and the menu fresh and varied -- not just burgers, fries and wings. The appetizers were a... More
