We stopped for beers and they have a nice selection of local beer. I believe they have 25 taps and only a few are national brands

We've been on vacation for two weeks and eaten in some super cool resturants - from the outside Dark Horse looked like it was going to be another neat brew pub -- it was not. Food was average - and a bit expensive - my son got the shrimp and my husband the walleye - both were $20 each -... More

Was wanting a steak so I stopped in at dark horse. I had to be seated by the bus boy, only to have 3 waiters glance at my table and keep talking. After 10 mins my wife went to the bar to get service. A waitress finally came over and said they were very busy. We ordered ribeye steaks only... More

We had dinner there while on our vacation and had horrible service, seemed like the wait staff didn't have good direction from management or something. Had to repeat our order several times, took forever to get the drinks and good, won't go back. I will say the potato skins were good though. Place was hot too, they have some issues... More

Had family out eight on trip to Custer the attention of staff was very good and food was excellent. Had Reuben and first time I did not ask for sauce to be removed it was delicious. Everyone in my party enjoyed the food and the evening. Was also kid friendly and staff very sociable.

Stopped after -2 hours in the car looking for some good food. We ordered the 20 oz Cowboy steak…big disappointment. I raise and butcher beef so I know what a 20oz looks like. The steak we got was cooked as ordered, but only a 12 oz steak at best very disappointed. Suggestion go elsewhere.

They do have a great selection of beer, but the food is just average. The evening we went the place was empty. They really need to learn not to give instructions to their employees on how to sell the food while a customer is within earshot ... does not make for a good impression. As a customer we don't care... More

This was just ok, food was average from the steak, ribs to fish....average priced. Has more of a bar atmosphere. The waitress was friendly.

We ate at the Dark Horse Steak and Brew on 4th of July. The waitress was the worst I've ever seen. It took her 20 minutes to take our drink order and 15 more to get the drinks. She forgot the bar drinks. My husband had to get them. We had to get a manager to get our order taken... More

Loved the service & food!! Stopped in after a long day of touring Custer State park with our small kids, & was met with the friendliest staff. Couldn't believe the $12.95 price of the bison prime rib, not really expecting much. Too our surprise, it was WONDERFUL!! Kids lived their cheeseburger & steak tips too. Will be back for sure!
