We ate at Captains Table our first night in Custer. I had the buffalo ground steak and my husband had the prime rib. Both meals and the service were very good. Would recommend this restaurant if you want a nice sit down meal.

The server was very pleasant but didn;t bring dinner rolls which were on the menu as part of a dinner. The soup was blah. Salad great, Batter fried cod not so hot. The prime rib was the best thing about the dinner.

My wife and I are on our 25th anniversary trip and stayed in Custer, S.D. for two nights. We ate here our last night and was disappointed with the food we ordered. My wife had the snow crab, which was overcooked and the steak I ordered was very bland and I had to salt and pepper or myself, it was... More

The motel we stayed in said if we let Captains Table know we were staying there we would get a free drink and since it was walking distance from our motel we gave it a try. We found a decent restaurant with a nice selection of entrees. Our server was very nice and helpful. My wife had the owners personal... More

Our food was barely tolerable, the service questionable. when we mentioned that the food was not very good , all we got is "oh I'm sorry you felt that way" we are here for two more days and I promise we will not be eating there ever again

Restaurant was walking distance from our hotel so thought we would give it a try. The food was good but a bit overpriced in our opinion for what you get. Appears they want to give the impression of a fine dining establishment but lack the finesse to make it so. The staff was friendly and the service adequate. Nothing really... More

Went into this establishment for a drink as we were staying in the hotel behind. Didn't seem like they really cared that we were there and we ended up leaving before being served. Explained why it wasn't busy!

We got to Custer late one night and were staying at a hotel near by. They seated us right away, served us food even though the kitchen was about to close. The service was excellent, and the food hit the spot after a long day of traveling! Would defiantly eat here in the future.

It was very late when we arrived in Custer and as we were staying across the street, we saw the "open" sign still on and went for dinner. Service was slow and the food is OK, nothing fancy although they do try, my husband said his shrimp pasta dish was fine but my meat was overcooked and too salty. Wine... More

Even though reservations are recommended we were seated right away. The service was excellent. The food was phenomenal. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for a decent sit-down meal.
