this place has very good food and the locals eat here. the restaurant itself is rather small and very noisy so not a great place for an intimate meal.

Menu is small but one benefit of that is it may force you to try something new. My choice that day, however, was anything but new, as I just ordered a burger. But it was delicious! And the seasoned potatoes instead of fries was both a surprise and a delight. Add in a waitress who was so friendly I felt... More

The Sage Creek Grill was recommended by the staff at our hotel. We were not disappointed. Probably the best meal we found in South Dakota. The field greens with goat cheese salad is outstanding. I had the Canadian Walley. My first time to try this northern fish. It was very well prepared and much enjoyed. One quirky thing is that... More

This can be the best dinner you can buy in the southern hills or a frustrating waste of money it all depends on the staff. For the money one spends here it shouldn't be such a roll of the dice.

Hands down, the best place to eat in town. Food is fresh and well prepared; the menu is small, but varied and imaginative. There are some vegetarian options in an area where meat dominates. It is small and fills up quickly, so you may have to wait for a table, but it is worth it. Our only negative is that... More

We went to this restaurant for our wedding anniversary and were looking forward to a nice dinner. The service was harried and interrupted. The food was mediocre at best. The salmon was overcooked and the stroganoff was a terrible. Despite what was clearly a lot of uneaten food the waitress made little attempt to find out what was wrong. So... More

We were referred here by a girl working at Crazy Horse and weren't disappointed! The place was packed and loud but we found two seats at the bar. We ordered the Walleye and salmon and they were Fantastic! For desert we had the panna cotta and pot de creme, OMG! The portion size was large and just perfect! It took... More

What a pleasant treat - eating lunch in tiny Custer SD. The waiter was wonderful. He was very attentive and had several good suggestions. We split the walnut bleu cheese bruschetta (made with walnut paste!), and had the field greens with goat cheese salad with a side of salmon. Topped off with a glass of chardonnay - this meal was... We stopped in on the recommendation of a fellow traveler to try the stroghanoff. To our disappointment that was on the menu for previous nights. This night was replaced with some sort of ground beef in a marinara sauce over pasta. The buffalo "stew" was more of a soup and not to be recommended. My suggestion: Check the menu before... More

We asked a few locals what the best place to eat for dinner was and this was the place! We ordered the best stroghanoff I had ever had and their desserts are unique. The house salad was very fresh and the soup of the day was yummy! Highly recommend this place! The only thing I think could be improved would... More
