In-law's Birthday

Staff was very nice and extremely cordial to my party. The waitress was simply enjoyable! The mgr had an interesting conversation with us. The red beans & rice tasted good, but would be great with long grain or par boiled rice. The grits were a big smash at the table. The food temp was a bit cooler... read more

Again another mediocre bar/diner disguised as a highly rated restaurant. Bar area populated with loud, intoxicated youngsters out on multiple double dates. Southern food that is just a heavy, batter-laden concoction with no flavor or inventiveness. Sad-looking overly steamed broccoli with the consistence of mash chrysanthemums. Overall a waste of time and money for anyone looking for an above-average dining... More

Staff at our hotel said this was a great place for something authentically Cajun and phenomenal. I will say "Meh." It was adequate but nothing great. The place reminded me of fancy Denney's on the inside. Our dishes, while all decently tasting, looked NOTHING like the pictures in the reviews. Our plates all were greasy and the presentation was just... More

We are staying in the Garden District and after a long drive wanted somewhere near. Zea was at the end of our road and was recommended by someone we met on the trolly. It was an excellent decision. There was a good choice of food, nicely presented and well cooked. The service was excellent and the prices were good.

Went there for dinner with a party of 6, seated quickly by friendly staff. We tried the shrimp appetizer; delicious. The gumbo was not too spicy and great flavor. Several of our party had the trout and were very pleased. Dessert was cheesecake; piece was much larger than expected and delicious. Overall a wonderful dining experience and prices reasonable. I... We had high expectations and were very disappointed with our experience at Zeas. We waited for almost 15 minutes for a served to appear to take our drink orders. Then he had them mixed up and had to have them remade. The spinach-artichoke appetizer came out with slices of limp, greasy, fried tortillas. When we complained, the manager came over... More

We came to Zeas on suggestion from my uncle and it did not disappoint. I ordered the shrimp & grits as an entree and the Mediterranean hummus as an appetizer. Both were PHENOMENAL! The staff was attentive and food was served promptly! I was extremely pleased with the experience!

St. Charles Zea has mediocre food and service. Very loud. The catfish, advertised as from Des allamands, is 90% breading and very little fish in old greasy frying oil is nothing like the local food critic describes or found in Des Allemands. Of course they pay him to advertise and praise the place so how can he be objective? The... More

A group of friends and family went to this place for a birthday dinner. It was a total of 20..This was by far the "WORSE" place I have ever dined at. The entrees were brought to the table without any sides. By time you got the sides the main dish was already consumed. The service was the worse I have... More

We stayed in the Garden District for 3 nights. After coming back to our hotel early each evening a different desk clerk would suggest Zea. We felt like we were home yet upscale. And, the foods were scrumptious. Between the two of us seniors we would order different foods and share so we tasted 6 different dinners. Soups are very... More
