If you're a vegetarian, this place is great! I got the tofu breakfast and it was delicious! My only issue would be its cash only...

After doing countless hours of research for our trip to NOLA all of us decided we wanted to hit up Surrey's for brunch. We went on a cool rainy day and waited outside for 40 minutes...the wait was worth the meal we received. The place is small and funky inside which was pretty cool. Our waitress wasn't the friendliest at... More

The reputation of Surrey's reached us via guidebooks and word of mouth, it was clear this was somewhere we really needed to go. We visited twice over a long weekend and was not disappointed either time. The hogs head benedict was a stand out along with the fresh orange juice, coffee and the pain perdu which is to die for!... In a place with so many great restaurants, surrey's stands out. Expect a 45 minute wait on the weekends during Jazz Fest, but you will be rewarded with melt in your mouth dishes that are truly memorable, the bananas foster French toast is a huge favorite, with warm melt in your mouth creaminess and caramel sauce. We last had it... More

We stopped for breakfast and loved it. Many different menu items and what we had was great. I want to go back some time and try the banana foster french toast but maybe as a dessert since it looks so sweet. The service was fast, friendly and helpful. Try it.

We were recommended this place by another tourist we met during our trip. We passed it by chance, as we were going to the WWII Museum and looking for someplace to eat first. We noticed the line out front and found a place to park. We were greeted by the friendly hostess who asked us for our celebrity names for... More

So good! Had the Costa Rican Breakfast the first day- delicious! Great chorizo. Second time had the Shrimp & Grits- also superb. Fresh squeezed juice is pricey but very good. Little bit of a wait but not too bad. Friendly and fast service.

Okay, so it was 3 blocks from our hotel, but after the first breakfast I was hooked. Get fresh-squeezed orange juice with a shot of wheat grass-this and the shrimp & grits is the best possible start to the day. We loved it, our kid loved it, they were always friendly even when crazy busy. Love this place.

Great breakfast menu despite name. Creative omelets, NOLA French Toast, Creole breakfasts, vegetarian, organic and yes, fancy juices. Come early to avoid wait.
