Strawberry Italian Ice - that is it. It is one of the lesser items on the menu but it is real - very real. This is very small place, mostly crowded on hot nights, it is out of the way, far from the French Quarter, blab blab blab. BUT it is worth a cap ride. Read the other reviews, but... More

I loved the stracciatella (Italian chocolate chip), it was creamy and flavorful, clearly homemade and fresh....but wish I'd looked more carefully before ordering! As soon as I was handed my gelato, I noticed the display case beyond the register that had fresh spumoni, cassata (spumoni/cake combo, yum!) and baked Alaska too. If I could have eaten more I would have... More

Loved this place for gelato, and it was just minutes away from our favorite B&B in NOLA: 1896 O'Malley House. Great little ice cream parlor & wonderful gelato!

The joyous, excited line of people that snaked around the block when Angelo Brocato's reopened following Katrina is a testament to just how loved by locals this place is. There's nothing quite like enjoying a crunchy, creamy cannoli inside this lively, quaint New Orleans institution.

. . . just for me and my family and people who want to see a real New Orleans tradition. And those who want to try wonderful ice cream and biscuits (i.e., cookies) and cannoli and good coffee in very hospitable surroundings. I've been going to NOLA a couple of times a year for 57 years now. Have known about... More

Have used Brocatos mail order service for many years. They make wonderful Sicilian specialties. When I was in New Orleans recently I went in the store for the first time and the ice cream is wonderful. It is a family run business, and they are all very warm and friendly people. No wonder they have survived so many years in... More

Whenever I'm in New Orleans, I'm going to Brocato's. If I'm with friends who haven't been to New Orleans, they're going to Brocato's. Anyone who knows New Orleans knows Angelo Brocato's. If you’re not from N.O., you may not be aware of the influence of the Italian, and largely Sicilian immigration before the turn of the 20th century on the... More

Oh my word. I am still dreaming about my tiramisu gelato. and HOLY CANNOLI!! Another joint that doesn't mess with what is tried and true. Angelo Brocato's is a easy walk from the Canal St. Streetcar Line, and worth it to get away from the French Quarter for a bit of dessert. It's beyond worth it. Wonder if they ship?... More
