Italian Institution 50yrs

The best Ice Cream I and my wife have ever tasted. Fresh local ingredients such as strawberries, peaches, blueberries, raspberrries, etc. Plus great Gelato, desserts of Sicilian recipes like mama made. Great coffee to wash it all down with. Just suffer the long lines at times even when it's hot.

27 + Ice Creams and Gelatos to choose from, so many so little time! Gotta move here, next door. Italian, NO! it wondrous selections of honest to God, goodness of Sicilians Pasteries. My most, favorite are Angelo Brocato's freshly made and served to order "Cannoli", let me say "Cannolies", because I can't just stop at one or two. I love... More

Every time I walk into this place I feel like I'm stepping back in time. Brocato's has been around at least 100 years and the quality and ambiance is so consistent, not to mention delicious. Depending on time of day and day of week that you go, parking can be a bear and sometimes the line is out the door.... More

Love this place since I was a kid old enough to know how good it was. In my 60s now so have to visit from Hammond just to get a Brocatto fix. Spumone, fig cookies, Gelato, coffees, and so much more!! Great way to end the evening from dinner, theater, ball game whatever. Stand in line and try to decide... More

Don't miss the almond macaroons - very simple to look at but the perfect blend of crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Definitely the place to go for authentic Italian gelato and pastries! Lines get long but go fast.

The strawberry cheesecake ice cream is my favorite. It never disappoints. Adding a seed cookie and coffee to your experience is heavenly.

This place is a New Orleans institution. Great place to get some ice cream on a hot summer night. Always busy in the summer. Good security so you can walk around a bit. Don't miss it for an inexpensive pleasure. I moved to Houston Jan. 2014 and haven't been back. But it's been there for decades and we used to... More

Went with my son around 8:30pm as he had to finally try gelato. No problem! I know just where to go! :P The line was out the door (which should tell you something about the place). He got chocolate gelato and it was excellent. I ordered a tiramisu to eat there and an Italian creme horn to go. We had... More

I just moved from New Orleans, and Brocatos is a place I will dearly miss. I love their strawberry ice, so fresh. And it's such a fun place to go in evening for dessert on a hot day!
