Best sweet treat ever! I cannot describe how delicious the ice cream/gelato/whatever it's called in Italian, but you will love it! I ordered two different flavors of chocolate and a chocolate Italian dipping biscuit. Hubby had an eclair and ice cream. The pastries are beautiful. You can see that these folks love what they do. We stopped off after visiting... More

After going to two restaurants in New Orleans that had great reviews and being very disappointed, I didn't even bother to read reviews for this place. I simply found it on Google maps. We were thrilled with our experience! Friendly workers, yummy pastries and tantalizing gelato! Yes, we had both pastries and gelato and ate every bite and then brought... More

But this place is also an amazing bakery. It's in my neighborhood so I'm there whenever I need something sweet. Plus, for tourists, it's right off the City Park Canal Street Car Line so a great place to stop if you check out City Park!

I visited A Brocato's Ice Cream Shop on North Carrollton while I was in New Orleans recently. I had a canolli and a cup of coffee. It was a little slice of heaven and a trip into the past all rolled into one. My bill came to $4.50. The canolli was fresh and creamy but not too sweet. Perfect. The... More

My nieces are dessert lovers and read the favorable reviews for this establishment. And we were NOT disappointed. Great selection of gelato flavors (watermelon was my favorite). Experience reminded me of times gone by. Lovely old building and great service. Winning combination.

This is well worth the short trip to Midtown to get some of the best ice cream around. So good there was a line out the door and down half the block.

Truly a neighborhood gem. Take the Canal street car and enjoy the ride to this delcious home made ice cream shop. You can also get delicious pastries and coffee, but for my calories...eat gelati.

Angelo Brocato's makes the best cannoli you will ever have!! Come to think of it, I've never had anything there that wasn't absolutely amazing. We've been enjoying this little gem for over 40 years. Definitely worth a visit!!

Should you go with the gelato? The cannoli that is made fresh while you watch? The strudel? It is all fabulous. We had the gelato and split a cannoli. The place gets busy on the weekends

One of the oldest in America. Gelato was good and traditional. I think the pastries are resting on their laurels, not bad but I've had a lot better. There was a line out the door. Maybe it's just that New Orleans is so humid that pastries that should have snap and crackle were a little soggy. It's kinda like stepping... More
