Oh my word. I am still dreaming about my tiramisu gelato. and HOLY CANNOLI!! Another joint that doesn't mess with what is tried and true. Angelo Brocato's is a easy walk from the Canal St. Streetcar Line, and worth it to get away from the French Quarter for a bit of dessert. It's beyond worth it. Wonder if they ship?... more

We saw this place on TA before we went, and since it was on the way to City Park from our hotel, we we worked it into our plans and we were so glad we did! My boyfriend says the pralines and cream gelato was the best thing he ate in NOLA and that is saying something for a town... more

After reading all the positive reviews here, I knew we would have to visit this little spot filled with old world charm. In the Mid-City area, it was only a few blocks from the inn where we were staying, 1896 O'Malley House (another highly rated place here on TA) and a perfect place to enjoy something sweet. Upon entering, you... more

It would be worth making a detour just to have dessert here again. The pistachio gelato was delicious. My wife had a napoleon and sweet cream gelato, both also top-notch. The coffees and espresso is also some of the best I've everhad outside of Italy. Be warned, though - the espresso is strong. My caffeine tolerance is pretty high, but... more

I cannot express how happy we were to have eaten here. I had praline gelato and a friend had an espresso with vanilla gelato / chocolate shavings. They were both fabulous. Writing this review makes me want one now all over again. more

For the rest of my life, every time I come to New Orleans, I will visit Angelo Brocato, as long as it still exists, and I will not feel guilty one bit about the calories. If you aren't a diabetic before you enter this place, you may be once you leave. It's an easy place to miss -- it's in... more

After seeing all of the rave reviews, my wife & I made a point of making our way up from the French Quarter to Brocato's. Taking the Canal St. Streetcar, it costs $1.25 each way to ride up to Carrollton Avenue where the place sits just a block off Canal St. It doesn't look like much from the road, but... more

If you were wondering why some of the regional accents sound a lot like those up in New York, well, step into this place - Italian immigrants have had a huge impact on the New Orleans area over the years. Like in, for instance, Brooklyn. Spumoni and espresso = great for an after dinner-type deal. more
