This antebellum building, once a favorite haunt of Tennessee Williams, is now home to a menu featuring duck quesadillas, classic New Orleans BBQ shrimp, muffalettas and more. Food is ok, I ordered the muffaletta and I good a grilled cheese. Told the waiter and got the right food instantly. The Chartres Burger is really good. Overall, nice location, very easy going, friendly waiter.

We were looking for somewhere to eat and pretty much everything was closed. Walked in because it was open and glad we did. Crawfish bread was delicious and service was great. Chris our server was really awesome.

Lively location. Dinner for 2 not on the balcony but near the door on the lower level was awesome! Appetizer of Crawfish bread was very palatable, Michaell was our awesome waiter that recommended the Oh so Delicious Mango Mint Julip that was so tasty for the warm night we had. Entree for me was a Muffalatta and my Boyfriend had... More

Terrific Cajun food. Great service. Sat downstairs in the bar in the window. Great people watching while enjoying a hurricane and mint julep. Food was awesome.

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for anything other than the beer. The food was mediocre at best and the service was terrible. Mistakes with seating at the hostess stand (thought they sat us and actually skipped over us), took over an hour to get our appetizer (while other diners came and went that were sat after us) and a server... When you're in New Orleans, there is no shortage of places to eat and choosing one can be quite distressing. You don't want to miss anything!!! We stopped in here at Chartres House just by chance. Didn't have to wait. Seated immediately and service came quickly. Of course, we had no idea what to order so we asked our super... More

After walking around Jackson Square and sitting in the heat at Cafe Du Monde, I thought Chartres was a mirage at first. They have the best cocktails and play good jazz music. When you first walk in you are in the bar area but there is seating in the back as well. It's a great spot to people watch as... More

The service was friendly but slow. We throughly enjoyed the crawfish bread and our Po boys. I highly recommend the oyster Po boy with blue cheese. Pretty well priced for all we got, but it's not super high on my list to return.

My sister, her daughter and I were enjoying a nice day in the French Quarter working up an appetite, was glad we found the Chartres House. The location was great, the food was good and the service was excellent. Maybe it was just being in New Orleans at Mardi Gras was the charm but all I can say is we... More
