Description: Luke New Orleans is Besh's homage to the grand old Franco-German...
Luke New Orleans is Besh's homage to the grand old Franco-German brasseries that once reigned in New Orleans. Luke offers an extensive French, German, and Belgian beer selection, including three exclusive house brews [custom-made in Louisiana]. The cuisine is unaffectedly Old World, using slow and traditional cooking techniques. The wine list features reds and whites from the Loire, Alsace, and Savoie regions, as well as Badischerwiens of Germany. Since opening in 2007, Luke has been hailed by Conde Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, and The Times-Picayune Lagniappe, which awarded Luke an impressive three bean-ranking for its "disarmingly home-spun culinary touches and broad-shouldered dishes that satisfy something more than just an appetit."

Expensive, but yummy!

We did brunch here and had a great time. I had a soft shell crab BLT, which was delicious. My wife had the shrimp and grits, which she loved. Our friends had the croque monsieur and the croque madam, which were also huge and delicious (they were so big they shared with us). For drinks, I had a... read more

Fantastic service and the dishes we ordered were delicious. We were a little hungover unfortunately as it was the day after Mardi Gras so sadly we couldn't finish our meals but I wish I could go back and do it again. They were so tasty and the sazerac did a litle to help with hair of the dog!

I just love this restaurant. My family and I have eaten here many times for breakfast, lunch and dinner because whenever we come to New Orleans we stay at the adjoining hotel property, the Hilton St Charles. Luke is a John Besh restaurant and is billed as German, although there are a few German items offered, all the menus make... More

I brought my wife here having stumbled upon Luke's on a previous business trip. We both had the breakfast Shrimp & Grits which are reason enough to get up in the morning. We came back for happiness hour, and half priced drink and half priced oysters; the service is terrific.

Went here for breakfast/brunch. I had the southern breakfast with the best hash browns ever. Coffee was flavorful and nice. I really appreciated the service and they were able to make my food dairy free without being dull or boring. A nice interior and atmosphere. Would come back.

We were looking for a meal at 10pm and our hotel sent us here. It was busy but they got us in quickly. Staff were efficient and food was good.

Went with friend who needs special attention in wheelchair and they were great! We've learned to call ahead and they were ready with easy access! We loved it and I admit to getting a spoon to claim the last drop of the shrimp and grits cocotte which was fabulous! The oyster salad has a grand surprise of THICK bacon. Service... More
