Description: Luke New Orleans is Besh's homage to the grand old Franco-German...
Luke New Orleans is Besh's homage to the grand old Franco-German brasseries that once reigned in New Orleans. Luke offers an extensive French, German, and Belgian beer selection, including three exclusive house brews [custom-made in Louisiana]. The cuisine is unaffectedly Old World, using slow and traditional cooking techniques. The wine list features reds and whites from the Loire, Alsace, and Savoie regions, as well as Badischerwiens of Germany. Since opening in 2007, Luke has been hailed by Conde Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, and The Times-Picayune Lagniappe, which awarded Luke an impressive three bean-ranking for its "disarmingly home-spun culinary touches and broad-shouldered dishes that satisfy something more than just an appetit."

Excellent Linch

I had a business lunch here recently, and it was an excellent venue with delicious food. It also has different menu items that appeal to various tastes and price points. The food was fantastic and the people around us were friendly locals. We showed up on a stormy Wednesday evening to find this place warm and inviting. It was loud, so if that bothers you, you should reconsider this place. However, we found it lively and the food was so flipping good we didn't care. Bravo Chef John Besh!!!

This place was recommended to us by locals and it certainly didn't disappoint. The restaurant is well located, but away from the grime and noise of the Bourbon st area. It is old style southern with great local menu selections and the food is plentiful, high quality with great presentation. I had a starter which consisted of Brussel sprouts, bacon... More

Despite what you read, this apparently isn't a John Besh restaurant anymore. I asked the waiter and he said JB was long gone, having nothing to do with the restaurant other than having his name at the top of the menu. For $24 I got a pork schnitzel and french fries ("pomme frites") with bread. The pork was good --... More

Came for a light late dinner with my wife. We're from out of town, and Luke is a nice break from the chaos of the Bourbon street area. Was not disappointed. Stuffed oysters were great, and the Luke salad was probably one of the best salads I've ever had. And the clincher, of course was the bread pudding! Great service... More

I found myself having brunch here one Sunday morning. That was several years ago, and I still remember in exact detail every single thing I had that day. Lightly blackened redfish with poached eggs. I have returned many times since and it has never disappointed. If you like seafood done extraordinarily well, this place is for you.

Happy Hour is a must 4-6 everyday but not only are drinks 1/2 off the oysters are a great deal as well. .75 raw oysters, probably the best deal we found on oysters in the French Quarter, and good too. However, my boyfriend raved over and over about the burgers at Luke. He knows I love burgers but visiting New... More

On my last day in New Orleans I had some time before my flight so decided to get some lunch - the Concierge Travis recommended Luke and it did not disappoint... great oyster and raw bar display, I had the Luke Salad which consisted of bibb lettuce, yello beets, carrots, cucumber and buttermilk ranch dressing -- so gooood.... then I... Went there for Sunday brunch. Part of John Besh's food empire. The seafood options were impressive - we shared a chilled seafood plate with oysters, shrimp, clams, mussels and ceviche that was extremely reasonable priced. The main dishes were delicious, and I highly recommend the jalapeno grits. The only disappointing element was the service. Our waiter took a long time... More

We went to Luke for Happy Hour so I guess you get what you pay for. My daughter said the oysters at Maison Premiere at Happy Hour in NYC were far better but they were twice the price. So really, is cheapest best? I had a bunch of delicious corn and blue crab fritters which were great. Hot tasty deep... More
