Description: Luke New Orleans is Besh's homage to the grand old Franco-German...
Luke New Orleans is Besh's homage to the grand old Franco-German brasseries that once reigned in New Orleans. Luke offers an extensive French, German, and Belgian beer selection, including three exclusive house brews [custom-made in Louisiana]. The cuisine is unaffectedly Old World, using slow and traditional cooking techniques. The wine list features reds and whites from the Loire, Alsace, and Savoie regions, as well as Badischerwiens of Germany. Since opening in 2007, Luke has been hailed by Conde Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, and The Times-Picayune Lagniappe, which awarded Luke an impressive three bean-ranking for its "disarmingly home-spun culinary touches and broad-shouldered dishes that satisfy something more than just an appetit."

Good food but at a price

We were able to be seated during a busy dinner hour and found the service to be attentive and prompt. The rabbit pate was excellent and was enough for two people. The Luke Salad at $9.00 was pricey, small portion wise and it was overly drenched in dressing. The Oyster Salad on the other hand at... read more

Visited Luke on the spur of the moment, on our last night in New Orleans and was pleasantly surprised. Even though we did not have reservations, we where seated immediately and greeted by our waiter within seconds. I chose the Entrecôte Grillée Et Frites, a grilled ribeye to die for. Which came with a side order if fires. The food... More

Maybe the most delicious Brussel sprout dish I have ever tasted. I want it again. The cheese and onion starter with bacon was huge and needed to be half it's size. Everything was really good, but the Brussel sprouts were heaven on a plate

The entrance from the hotel is confusing, you enter at the back of the restaurant. I was rudely informed by a waiter that I should go to the front to see the hostess for a table. It was freezing cold and dark, and after one look at the extremely limited breakfast menu, I walked out. Can't comment on the food... More

Hello! Thank you so much for your feedback. You are so right! The entrance from the hotel can be confusing. We normally have a sign at the hotel entrance to the restaurant indicating the hostess at the front of the restaurant, but I am sorry to hear that you did not experience good service in your limited time in the... If Luke was in a different city, it might get a better review. In New Orleans, it is a average place for brunch. The waiter recommended the breakfast biscuit which was nothing special. The breakfast potatoes with little nubbins of pork was nice. The coffee was not to my liking.

Breakfast here is a treat, though expensive. Would love to go back to sample their dinner menu. Excellent service, interesting interior design. Nice bar with top shelf liquors.

All of the food was excellent. The coffee was the very best! I loved the unique combination of ingredients and awesome flavors, like the crispy brussels sprouts. The bread pudding was also very good without having to get too crazy with ingredients like I'd seen at other restaurants (like pumpkin, or something else to differentiate it). I wanted to experience... More

We stumbled onto Lüke our first night in New Orleans and it was one of the best meals we had during our week-long stay. In a city known for food, Lüke certainly held its own. We even went back again another night for a late bite and then again for dessert & drinks later in the week! The shrimp &... More
