Desire Oyster Bar serves Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner daily. We are very excited to welcome you to this newly renovated hot spot in the French Quarter. Desire reopened in February 2015 offering Oysters Your Way - chargrilled, on the half shell and more, an extensive NEW MENU of fresh Gulf seafood and New Orleans' favorites like BBQ Shrimp, Desire's Creole Trio and Po-Boy sandwiches, plus additional libations to keep the energy flowing!

Love this resurant,the wait staff is awesome, food is great. Sadly they no longer offer Turtle soup :>{

This place is great, very N'leans ;>} One of the waiters was kind enough to go through a menu for me & mark down all the dishes that were appropriate for a gluten free diet. The only complaint I have is the no longer have their awesome turtle soup :>{ Hoping they bring it back by the next mission... read more

First of all, I love this place, and I'm so happy it's back! I missed it during the renovation. This is one of my favorite places to eat in the Quarter. The food is fantastic and the service is always amazing. I want to say a special thanks to my waiter, Robert. He was so gracious and had so many... More

We have been coming here during Jazz Fest for years. Each year we go to Desire as soon as we get off the plane for their Desire Oysters. These were put under a broiler with wonderful cheese....I dream about them. This year I found the management changed some things and those oysters were unfortunately one of them. Even the wait... The staff is exceptional and always willing to assist. We've been coming here for 15 years and it's always a good time and an excellent value.

Desire is a tourist trap. The fresh seafood is good but not outstanding. The service is very attentive but their cocktails are below average.... If you go, just have some beer with your oysters...

We ate here the first night that we were in town and wish we had gone back at least once more! Bottom Line: Great drinks, great service, and great food! My husband got The Creole Trio and raved about it the rest of the trip. I got a Po’Boy and the french bread that it was served on became the... More

Been going there for years and always made it our first stop. They have remodeled and changed their menu. The place looks nice, but they took the Turtle Soup off the menu and got rid of the hot sourdough bread. Hugely disappointed. Had to try a new place instead.

I wanted to compliment the service of a waiter named Robert, who waited on my family during our recent trip to the Desire Oyster Bar. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly. My wife had been wanting to go this restaurant for a long time, and Robert made our visit very special. If most waiters and servers were as professional as... More

We dined at Desire several times during our visit to New Orleans. The food is excellent and the wait staff are charming and entertaining. Their blackened chicken salad is excellent! You can dine on Bourbon Street with an indoor/outdoor feel as there are doorways all across the front of the restaurant and they are open to the street. Great for... More

We ate at the counter with Miss Kitty as our bartender/server. She is the absolute best and a true New Orleans gem. The shrimp po boy was phenomenal. The drinks were excellent and the services was impeccable. Very nice staff and very good experience.
