I was visiting New Orleans and stumple into this restaurant after waiting about 15 minutes at another restaurant but wasn't provide any service. Our server was Geri and she made our meal so enjoyable. Her knowlegde of the menu and able to provide us with everything we needed throughout our meal was overwhelming. I can't wait to re-visit this restaurant again.... More

Thanks to a husband with a broken foot we could not do a lot of walking on this vacation. Desire was connected to our hotel and it was really good. It is a little pricey but everything in The Quarter is. I tried several things on the menu and it was all good. The service was the best we have... More

Our first time here, the food was very good - however, the service was not the best - our server was more interested in what was going on in the street rather than what was happening with his guests. Next, our wine glasses where dirty! and I mean dirty. I could not believe that these glasses made it passed the... More

We encountered this restaurant via a culinary tour of The French Quarter of New Orleans & returned for dinner. Service was excellent. The food was great and the atmosphere friendly and very lively. Servers kept us refreshed with plenty of iced water in addition to drinks we'd ordered. Crab cakes were tasty and salads filling. Would heartily recommend this place,... More

We were staying at the Royal Sonesta, so this seemed like a great place for breakfast. Hubby had the "American Classic" breakfast of 2 eggs (over easy) bacon, sausage, potatoes and toast, and pronounced it excellent. I had Eggs Sardou, which is poached eggs (2) in artichoke bottoms on a bed of creamed spinach and covered with hollandaise, and came... More

This was my first experience with oysters and Desire did NOT disappoint! We (my husband & I) ordered Hurricanes from the bar and they are the best we have had since being in New Orleans. We ordered the fried pickles, Oysters DESIRE, and oysters in half shell for our appetizers. All of which were very good and extremely fresh. My... More

The restaurant is casual, nothing fancy. Shrimp and grits were great, gumbo fair, jambalaya and red beans and rice were good. BBQ shrimp was peeled, but shrimp were a bit dry. reasonable prices for the French Quarter.

The service was excellent, the food was excellent with large portions and ample selections. The price was slightly above average but worth the extra cost
