Yummy place to visit in NOLA

My husband and I visited this bakery after finding it on Trip Advisor. It did not disappoint. They had a decent variety and I plan to return before going home. 😊

I only get to New Orleans once a year and hadn't heard about The Link Group buying La Boulangerie. On my visit last week, I bought a baguette and an almond croissant because these items used to be close to bread and almond croissant I got in Paris. Alas, not so anymore. Although I read The Link Group had bought... More

The place is very clean and a couple of the workers were very friendly as was the manager. The place smelled so good. I got a Apple Turnover it was good just wished it was hot. I did not ask if they could or would warm it up. I also bought a round piece of bread that was covered in... More

I was a frequent morning customer at Boulangerie before the take-over by Link group. After trying the pastries under the new management, I can tell you that I will be going here a lot less often. The scone was far too sweet and did NOT have the delicious balance between not-too-sweet buttery dough and sweet fruit or filling as before.... More

We have been going to La Boulagerie for years for their fresh breads and pastries. Went this morning for the first time since change in ownership and it was nothing like the old La Boulangerie. The breads and pastries are not fresh and it lacks the ambiance of the old La Boulangerie. Sadly, we will find a new bakery.

Ditto to last review. My family and I have been loyal customers of La Boulangerie for the past 10 years, but will not be returning. Visited last weekend, and were sadly disappointed. Quiche had very thin, flavorless filling inside a hard thick crust that looked and tasted old. Croissants were very lackluster- have had better from Publix. Even the coffee... More

Loved the old boulangerie. Had a strawberry tart today - based on many wonderful prior visits. New version is supermarket quality. Tart crust tasted like it was made days or weeks earlier. Very disappointed . I lost my favorite breakfast place in NOLA.

ALERT! Major Change. The French owner and chef of La Boulangerie has sold the business to a restaurant group. This is no longer the place that won all the awards and the high ratings on TripAdvisor and Zagat. It has lost its (previously) French soul. Gone are the happy colors of Provence for an industrial paste color inside. Gone is... More

We decided to try this place for lunch and have mixed feelings about the place. The salmon and turkey sandwiches were very tasty, and the ham sandwich was alright too. However, prices were pretty high, and the portions were pretty small. If you've got extra money to burn, this is a good spot.

We ordered a chocolate eclair, croissant, raspberry croissant, chocolate croissant, and opera. They were all good, but not mind-blowing.

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighborhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
