Food is not the same with new owner...heartbroken

My husband & I have been going to Ninja since we first moved to the New Orleans area. It was hands down our favorite sushi spot, and it was on the top of our list when we wanted to go out for dinner. The service was great, and the sushi was incredible....until now. We hadn't been to Ninja for a... read more

We were fans and loyal customers from the time our 1st daughter was around 3 (they were on Jeanette then) til the sale (daughter 28 years). Abruptly, boom! They were gone, all our servers were gone, along with a lot more. The baked green mussels, a sinful favorite, is not tiny and uninteresting. The rolls are rather dull. The service... More

We've been going to Ninja for 5+ years, and have always appreciated the freshness of the ingredients, and the 'kitschy' decor. We were a little worried with the change in ownership, but we LOVE IT!! They have weekly special rolls now, and they are EXCELLENT! They're raising the bar to compete with other local 'fancier' sushi restaurants. Very reasonably priced!... More

This was our favorite sushi place. Found out on our last trip that Momo sold the restaurant. The food was still good but the service needs a lot of work.I don't think they kept any of the old wait staff. Waited 30 min. for drinks and had a 3 hour meal. New owner was apologetic and comped a lot of... More

My roommate and I were really looking forward to trying ninja and especially so today since sushi fest was such a bummer. We arrived and we're coldly greeted by the bartender who asked "bar or table?" We said we preferred a table and he huffed "it'll be a while." We decided to sit at the bar instead (we were the... Shockingly bad service. You can literally wave your hand back and forth and not get noticed here. I had a single California roll arrive so late that it went straight into a to go box. It was taking so long that I repeatedly tried to get the waitresses attention. From what I hear, the owners deduct credit card fees from... More

The first thing we ordered was a salad with sashimi, cucumber, avocado, and a jalapeno dressing which was excellent. Next, the tuna tartare which was also very good. Then everything went downhill with the sushi. Got the devils roll, rainbow, and the spicy lemon drop roll. Rainbow was fine, spicy lemon drop roll said it had jalapenos in it which... More

I've been eating at Ninja since they were in the little house on Jeannette St. Although I still like this restaurant and eat here frequently, I remember it being much better when it was in that little house. Maybe it is just because I was a teenager and hadn't eaten at too many Japanese restaurants. The current location is ok.... More

The inside of Ninja isn't anything special or pretty, but the food they serve is some of the best in town. My favorites include the ninja salad, the firefighter roll, and the rainbow roll. If you order enough sushi, they'll bring you a free soup!

I used to be a regular, but I moved. My wife and I use Ninja as our measuring stick of great sushi. Our October visit was awesome. The crunchy roll was so good I messaged my good friend who introduced me to the roll to tell him that if I had to choose I would choose the crunchy roll over... More
