This was recommended to me by one of those taxi bike guys. I love the tasting menu! the Rabbit Jambalaya was AMAZing and so was the gumbo! The setting is more of a home-town bar scene with "locals" . Thumbs up! If you're only here for a day and want to TASTE the LA fare.

The person in charge of making you go out and stand in line to wait your turn to get in here take great care to allow only the proper number of patrons in at a time so that the servers can squeeze past the crowded tables without dumping the heaping plates of food on customers. They probably have other reasons... More

Our hotel staff recommended this restaurant telling us that it was a favorite of locals. What they didn't tell us was that this would be a highlight of our stay. Do not pass the chance to have a pork chop here. Delicious food and awesome staff.

Mmmmm the rabbit and sausage jambalaya possibly the best I've ever had! The ideal combination of spiciness, soft texture, unique tender meat, and still light enough to consume plenty! When in New Orleans, you must try not just a jambalaya, but this jambalaya.

We were seated at the bar and that was fine. The servers did not seem to like each other and were sarcastic and short with everyone the served. Perhaps that is "what they do", but I didn't care for it. The Gumbo is excellent.

Don't let the line outside scare you off....it goes fast. You're on vacation so grab a drink in your To Go cup & oeopke watch as you wait. Once you get in, you'll enjoy great food!

A waitress told us to try Coops for authentic food and decided to try it due to the good reviews. We arrived in the nick of time. Within 10 minutes there was a line outside waiting to get in this very small place. The service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious. The jambalaya was good and the... More

We decided to try this due to the good reviews (and it was close to our hotel) when we arrived the place was packed and we had to wait outside about 15 minutes for a table, after we were seated the service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious. I had the supreme rabbit jambalaya and my husband... More

We went here on a whim. There was actually a line outside waiting to eat there! The food was mushy and almost tasteless. We got the coops combo plate so that we could try A little gumbo, shrimp creole, red beans and rice, jumbalia and fried chicken. We all grew up in south Louisiana so we know good Cajun food.... More
