I cook professionally and am extremely critical of a dining experience. I had the rabbit, Tasso, and gulf shrimp jambalaya. It was so good I shed a tear... Literally. It was earth shatteringly good. It is unpretentious and the FOH staff is surly (in a good way). It's a very unique experience with food that will certainly not disappoint.

I hit Coop's place at least once for lunch whenever I am in NOLA for work. It does not "look" like a place that has food as good as it does. Food never fails here.

We were in New Orleans last week and went to Coop's Place twice. Shrimp and crawfish Ettofee and the Crawfish Tasso rocked! Also famous and delicious fried chicken. My guess is that everything is great. We went on Sat. at 2 and stood in line for 30 minutes, but on Sunday we went at 11 am and got a seat... More

My wife and I had a blast eating some very good New Orleans food at Coops after standing in line for about 45 minutes. This place is not for everyone. We loved it. We sat at the bar eating the red fish and chicken dishes both of which were great for an unpretentious place like this, which seemed more of... More

This place was recommended to us by our hotel staff. We would have never found this place on our own and that would have been a shame! It's a small bar on Decatur across from Margaritaville. We went in, grabbed on of the few high top tables and wondered why we were their because there was signs of people eating.... More

I chose this place based on reviews here and on that other site that rhymes with help. All rave about the chicken, but that did not impress me as much as the gumbo. I was looking for a small casual place frequented by locals, and Coop's fits the bill. The service is not the most prompt, but I knew that... More

Located in the french quarter, housing the best fried chicken and a no frills atmosphere this is perfect for those who seek the best of local living. The staff is friendly and the bar lively. Great service. definitely a place to come back to.

We didn't even have a chance to eat here because the service was appalling!! We were visiting from Australia and we walked in hearing knowing it got such great reviews. The waitress treated us like we had just ran over her cat. Then she asked for ID and we only had our drivers licenses and so she picked up our... More

Okay, so the system here really needs some help. You show up, wait on the street until the bouncer/host asks you how many, and decides that there is space for you. We walked up at about 9:45pm on a Saturday night and got in a line that stretched down the block. The good news is, there are plenty of walk... More
