A locals place

In the French Quarter, it is a bar and a restaurant. It serves better than average food (for a bar), with Creole specialties. It is a busy bar. Very fun place to grab a quick meal and hang out to drink.

The jambalaya supreme is great. But it always comes out cold and the waiter always looks mad when you ask them to heat it up. It's the best meal I've had here but the waiters are super super unfriendly and they don't mind making you wait while they have a conversation. I keep going back and it seems like the... More

The place was disgusting. It looked like it had not been cleaned in 10 years. We had to sit at the bar to eat and the bartenders were the rudest and nastiest people I have ever encountered in an eatery. All of the cups were plastic for all of their drinks. The staff looked like they just stepped out of... More

Husband thought it was great - loved the food. My food was just so-so. We ate at a small counter along one wall.. It was dark, small, crowded and our server didn't seem too happy to be there. Maybe it was just an off night. Other people seem to like it.

After three attempts to eat at Coop’s (always too long of a wait), I finally achieved nirvana! It was well worth the wait, and I feel bad for not waiting in the lines before. There is good a reason there is a long line here, the food is excellent! Another couple and my wife and I ate here for and... More

From the moment we entered the place felt "good". Not disappointed; wait staff friendly, and offered good advice; food very good; price very reasonable. The only missing ingredient was live music....excellent for what it is.

Ate here at the recommendation of another business we had visited prior. It was our first time in the area and we wanted to try some authentic New Orleans food. We waited outside until our turn to go in. It was a cozy place to be. The waitress came right away and I guess saw how nervous we were. She... More

We visited Coop's on a suggestion from a friend, and we entered this "dive" a little nervous. The waitstaff that greeted us was a little abrupt, but we soon found he was welcoming and helpful. It's dark and dingy when you walk in, but not icky. The waiter was very helpful with suggestions and made us feel very comfortable. I... More

The dark, dingy interior, as well as the rushed, abrupt attitude of the wait staff can seem a little intimidating at first. Our first night we sat at the bar which was the right choice to get to mingle with the staff and other patrons. We had the New Orleans sampler which was good and the Smoked Duck Quesadilla which... GO here. Our best meal in New Orleans. Definitely worth any wait you might have. They let us bring in the drinks we bought whilst waiting (from a different establishment) into the restaurant and the waiter was good fun. The jambalaya was phenomenal, other members of our party had the fried chicken and the tchoupilatas and we all voted it... More
