Chicken is awesome

Came here knowing its just a hole in the wall kind of place and that the waitstaff could be "interesting". We shared the 3 piece fried chicken platter w/the rabbit and sausage jambalaya and a side salad. Was pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the salad. Stopped in here on a whim and glad we did. Our waiter was great. Basically pointed out about 5 dishes we should pick from, not trying to upsell us either. We thought the food was great, waiter was great and the restaurant had a nice fun atmosphere.

there was a line outside, but I didn't mind to wait. the place is loud and very simple, service was just ok but they serve the best Jambalaya you can have in New Orleans.

Looking for an inexpensive place to eat in the quarter? Go to coops place! The fried chicken is amazing. Beware it's a hole in the wall bar, but you won't be disappointed.

We were there, five of us, on Wednesday July 29 around 4 PM, hungry after our swamp tour. The place was recommended by our bus driver. We had ordered the gumbo, shrimp & oysters, bbq shrimp, shrimp Creole, red beans and rice, and a couple beers. The place is a restaurant bar type venue. It was relatively empty at the... More

I went there last night after having been advised by a local to go there and try their marinated crab claws. The crab claws were reasonably priced but lacked flavor. My boyfriend got red beans and rice, it was awful, no flavor and cold. During diner a large cockroach ran across our table, a large cockroach climbed the wall by... More

we were recommended this place by a local. We were told it was a bit rough & ready but the food was worth it! That was most certainly true! The bar is shabby & the toilets are the worst I have ever seen in a restaurant but the food was outrageously good. We had Shrimp & enjoyed every bit! The... More

My husband and I stumbled on this restaurant two years ago in New Orleans and loved it -- I have to admit that at first I was not sure about even going in! When I was there last week, we searched and searched in the Frenchman area for the restaurant. I was so excited when we found it. The only... More

I admit, i might not have walked into Coop's if friends i trust hadn't recommended it. From the street the place looked overcrowded, dark and a little dreary. Wrong! It was lively, fun and featured the best fried chicken i ever had. The red beans and rice was great, with pulled pork. I loved Coops!

Great Cajun Food! Our waitress was so sweet and nice, helped us with our picks. Went a second time, sat at the bar, same great experience.
