Had Cajun shrimp and it was very good. The place is a change of pace from the Bourbon Street crowd. Relaxed environment and ou can get all the local favorites in their menu. You're also on Decatur, a Main Street in the French Quarter.

Had the duck apetizer and the soft shell crab "Julia", both are recommended. Had the crab for the first time, after all these years of coming here. Miss Faye was tending the bar, and asked why I'd want a menu, that I should know the menu off-by-heart by now. So I cheated, rubber-necking the big chalkboard and eyeballing the menu.... More

Recommended by some locals, we headed over to Coop's for some classic local dishes. We went in and were met by friendly staff and welcoming smells coming from the cooking station out back. To make sure we got to try everything we got the tasting plate, which was very reasonably priced. It was delicious and enormous - set you up... More

When we arrived, the lady at hotel recommended this place for lunch. Had the seafood platter and gumbo. Wow! Lots of food and very affordable! Liked it so much we went back for dinner. Also, for desert, try cafe du monde for biegnets pronounced "Beneys". Super yummy!

My son and I ordered the duck quesadilla to start. It was very good. Washing down with two mint juleps that were heavy on the whiskey. Main entrée for me was the fried shrimp platter. No issues. My son ordered the jambalaya. His dish looked like a bowl full of paste. He stated that it tasted good. Apparently the jambalaya... More

The first time we went to Coop's we were very pleased. However, this second time was a bit disappointing. We did not enjoy our food as much as when we first went there a few years ago. Also, there was a lot of yelling going on.

We spoke to some locals and they suggested this place to us! It was great food was good size portions. Husband had a covered chicken special and he loved it, sauce was great! I had combo with fried chicken red beans rice and gumbo! Love the combos to try it all! Nothing fancy but a good place out of the... More

Coop's is a place you probably wouldn't go without a recommendation, but it was recommended to us. It's a hole-in-the-wall kind of place without much ambience. It's basically a neighborhood bar, but the food was good. I had the gumbo which was very flavorful but not very hot and the jambalaya which was good but also not very hot. My... More

I stopped in to Coops place by myself today for a quick lunch. I had heard rave reviews about the jambalaya. I was not disappointed. It was fantastic. If your looking for fancy, you came to the wrong place. It's a tiny "dive" bar with amazing food. Everything is homemade. I sat at the bar and it was pretty much... More
