Nestled in the entrance of the Chickie Wah Wah, this tiny kitchen pumps out some awesome food. Had the Sausage, Brisket and Pulled Pork. the Sausage was incredibly well spiced, the brisket you could eat without teeth it is so incredibly tender and the pulled pork was divine. Had the ginger sesame slaw and the brisket chilli beans which were... More

This is inside Chickie Wah Wah bar/music venue. Run by two very creative young cooks, who love what they do and are continually inventing new dishes. The BBQ is great, of course, but they have great appetizers (BBQ egg rolls, deviled eggs), sides (garlic mac and cheese, brussels sprouts), sandwiches (try the grilled cheeses) and rotating desserts (try to get... One of our group was hankering for BBQ. On our fifth night in New Orleans, we were ready for real food and a casual setting. We got it all and then some at Blue Oak BBQ. Brussel sprout lovers raved about the sprouts. All of our sides were great! Oh yeah, the meat.... Fabulous! Ribs, brisket, pork, all tender and... More

This restaurant is inside Chickie Wah Wah and has awesome wings! The rooster sauce is amazing! Also- order the brussel sprouts- YES- the brussel sprouts! They are out of this world good! And the mac and cheese was also just phenomenal. My husband is a huge foodie and we (us and our friends) thought the trolley ride up Canal Street... More

Do yourself a favor and take the Canal street car to this BBQ joint. See my review for Chickie Wah Wah because that was for the Blue Oak BBQ and not so much about the bar. Blue Oak BBQ is inside Chickie Wah Wah. Even if you don't want to pay a cover or sit in the bar there are... More

I decided to stop by expecting to eat some typical barfare for a quick snack. When I looked at the menu I was very surprised to see such delicious offerings. Now I very rarely eat meat, but something made me try the pulled pork sliders. Unbelievable flavor. Must have wolfed them down in a few minutes. The flavor overtook my... More

Decided to try after reading the positive reviews. No one exaggerated about how amazing the food was here especially the brussel sprouts. I hate brussel sprouts! I was so skeptical that I decided to just try my husbands and that was a mistake not ordering my own. I have no idea how these were prepared but they were absolutely delicious... More

We didn't plan on eating when we went to Chickie Wah Wah for great music, but the aroma from the other tables made us. We waited until late (10:30pm) and ordered light (????) - Wings, Smoked Wings, Ginger Sesame Slaw, Habanero Deviled Eggs. Green Mesquite in Austin, TX is the only other place that I know of that goes to... More

Wow!! Went to hear music - the wonderful Mischiya Lake at Chickie Wah Wahs - and was blown away by the food at Blue Oak BBQ, a small counter service joint at the entrance to the club! I had the shrimp tacos, ginger slaw and brussel sprouts!! Best sprouts I have ever had! Sat at one of the tables outside... More
