This is a must eat here stop in NOLA. Great for guys and for couples. Traditional cocktails and great wine list. Excellent soups and appetizers. This is the place to try turtle soup and escargot. Fish and steaks are great. Their duck is out of this world. Dessert feature is bananas foster on pecan bread pudding-death by happiness!

This was our first time visiting this location and our party of 5 was not disappointed to say the least. Great food. Everyone in our party had something different from Oysters to Shrimp with Linguini, to my entree Veal Marsala, which by the way was the best I have eaten. Awesome. Make your reservation now.

First, let me start by saying my husband has been here several times for business dinners and LOVES this place...he's a seafood lover..I am not...I had their Filet and wasn't impressed. Although large and tasty, the Ceasar salad was drowning in dressing...way too much dressing. The sesame seed bread was dry and stale. The potatoes were more suited for breakfast...but... More

Birthday celebration with friends. Elegant decor and first class service. The appetizers were large and very splitable. Mussels are excellent and could be an entree paired with the wonderful bread. All crab dishes were excellent with lump crab and delightful sauces. Chocolate almond mousse dessert was a nice shareable finish.

The restaurant has great ambiance. And the food is great. The portions are average but they are right portions. And they taste awesome.

This place has great decor, as well as good food and service. I don't often go to places such as this, so I thought it was expensive. $10 for a mixed drink, and $8 for a very small bowl of soup? Otherwise, a very nice place to dine.

Started with avocado, crab, and creole mustard vinaigrette salad. Then on to fish Capri, drum sautéed with crab, artichoke, capers, tomatoes, etc. Bothe were based on waiter recommendations. Both were excellent. Service was attentive and friendly, if not a little quirky. This place is a great change of pace from the crowds and chaos of the French Quarter.

So I came to Tommys since the reviews were great and it was near my hotel. Bonus! Sat down at the bar (dirty). Bartender was nice but did not mention there was a ladies special of all you can drink bubbly for 10.00. At minimum 11.00 a glass of wine I easily could have done that! Did not know until... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
