Went here for lunch and the food was great. We were looking for some good down home southern cooking and we found it at this restaurant. The fried chicken, BBQ ribs, smothered pork chops, greens, stuffed bell pepper, white beans and rice were awesome, we just ordered and ate family style, highly recommend this place, and the Pralines are excellent... I've had better Jambalaya at home! Praline Connection used frozen peas and carrots and canned beans. The rice was cold, the meat was luke warm and lacking in quantity. When I didn't finish my plate he asked if I wanted take out. I bit my tongue and politely replied "No Thanks" like a good Canadian. But I should have told... More

Call it what you will, this is just good food. Home made with love. A have to go stop when ever were in town from the catfish, fried chicken, red beans and rice, to the daily specials, all good and don't forget the bread pudding, out of this world !

Good food in a crowded setting. Okay for our group or for casual dining but I wouldn't go here as a couple.

One of the side effects of delicious food is a large crowd. It might not make for a quietest setting, but it sure is fun! Glad we could take care of your group. Hope you'll stop by again the next time you're in the neighborhood. Best, Curtis Owner More

We went here for lunch because our city tour dropped off some other people here and we thought we'd try it. The staff was very friendly. We wanted to save some room for dinner, so he just got gumbo file (nothing special but tasted ok) and I got a beet salad. I loved that beet salad! Heeps of beets, pickled... More

Thanks for stopping in during lunch! It's great to hear you enjoyed the beet salad as well as the pralines. Next time, you should give the Taste of Soul a try -- I think you'd like it. We're always looking to improve, so if you have any suggestions for what we could do better next time, don't hesitate to send... More

The food was great and the service was friendly and non-intrusive. We were very hungry by the time we got here after a French Quarter tour (15 minutes from the French Quarter) and when the place we were trying to dine at turned out to be closed, we picked Praline Connection. It was worth the visit. The soft shell crab... More

We had the file gumbo and catfish bites with mac and cheese. I also had a glass of sparkling wine. The food was very good - the catfish bites were very lightly breaded and fried, with a succulent tartar sauce. The gumbo had lots of flavor. It took about 30 minutes to get the food, and then our server disappeared.... More
