I wanted some good food, and what I got was a reason to move here.

I've never been to New Orleans before, but I do like Cajun food so I was on a quest to find some. I've had gumbo, and jambalaya before, so I had my heart set on some etouffee. After looking through the menu, and seeing some other mouthwatering dishes I found my etouffee. However, just in case it... read more

Looks like it could be a fun atmosphere, but it felt more like an old western saloon. Food was good, but tiny portions and over priced. Left feeling taken advantage of for what we paid. Have a feeling this is just one of those tourist places that everyone local recommends but never goes to themselves.

We were told to try this for authentic Cajun..I had gumb, which was a lot when ordering a bowl. My husband ordered e'tufei (sp) it was good. By the time we were done, our bill was over 60..a lot of money for visiting. I might go again if given the chance, but I'm sure I would look for other "authentic... More

The food is the BEST in New Orleans! If you get the big appetizer platter, it will feed literally 15-20 adults! It's huge! Amazing food compared to other "Cajun/Creole" food in or around New Orleans!!! Great service as well! 👍👍

In the crazy realm of finding parking, this is an easier spot to find street parking (on Julia) near Canal St. Our server was very attentive and the food was good. Lunch prices seemed a bit high. There is live Cajun music nightly, so I would opt to come for the evening meal next time and have the experience of... More

Well, what can I say. It was our last day of 4 days in New Orleans and maybe that is the reason why I can not say a good word about the food they serve. We have tried too many good local restaurants with fresh food before the Mulate's, this was a disaster. As you see from the pictures I... More

Noisy, decent food, music, good service, decent pricing. fair, only fair gumbo. very large dining room , so sit near the band if you want to hear the music. some locals, but lots of tourists from the convention center. we found a parking space which is not always easy, but gives hope.

This is a very popular place. We were there when it opened at 11:00am, and it filled to capacity very quickly. The service staff was very friendly, and the food was very tasty! Try the aligator!!!

The food was good, but they charge $3.50 for a soft drink and $8 for a piece of pie. Also, the sound system in the building is not great so the music was muffled but loud.
