Fun place!

We had dinner there tonight - Mulate jumbalaya for me and fire grilled shrimp for my husband. Delicious! Loved the Cajun band - very entertaining while we ate.

Food was excellent and the waitstaff was polite and helpful. The building is very large and has live music

Manager was not very friendly and didn't want to accommodate our large group - we didn't care about seating but refused to split the checks. Wait staff was excellent but food was not great - just acceptable.

Another fun place to eat and this one included music. The food was good, but not memorable. The place is set up to handle large groups of tourist, either convention goers or Cruise ship people so that should tell you what to expect. I had Crawfish Etouffée which was excellent and someone else had Seafood Gumbo which was also good.... More

We kept hearing on our trip you have to go to Mulate's so we made sure to go. It was a big open dining hall, but you are crammed in. Portions were big. I tried the grilled gator but was surprised to find it was more like stir fried gator. The coleslaw was the best part. I had been dying... More

We ate here based on a recommendation from our hotel. Food was good. It was our first time trying alligator. Kind of pricey, it was over $100 for two of us. There was a live jazz band the night we were there.

We had some really awesome alligator here and decent service. The other items we ordered were pretty basic. This is definitely a tourist trap, But I would go back for the blackened alligator.

Okay, It is directly across from the convention center. They do have live music. It seems to have a fun atmosphere. I had two apps the meat pies and the Boudin. The meat pies were actually fine but the sauce served with them was too spicy. The boudin had absolutely no flavor on its own. The service was good and... More

Great location, menu and customer service. One of the finest establishments for Cajun Cuisine. Portions are favorable and fresh. Specialty drinks abound and savory seafood is always available.

In town for business and/or pleasure? Hungry from meetings or sight seeing? Mulate's is great for a warehouse district meal. I was on a site visit for work and brought the family along for the trip to NOLA. Just in from the long travel morning we stopped in for lunch. My seven year old loves fish and their kids fried...
