Amazing

One of our friends, who is a local to New Orleans, wanted us to venture off the quarter with him and he wanted us to visit this restaurant, and we were not disappointed. This was one of the best places we ate while on vacation, and we would happily visit again.

Somewhat out of the way (15- 20 minute cab drive from the Quarter) but this little local joint is outstanding! Gumbo, Po boys, crawfish étouffée were excellent. The Bloody Mary was one of the best I have had in a long time. Two other couples we were with loved it. Well worth the visit, you will not be disappointed!

Ate there again with friends yesterday. Gumbo, Oyster Po'Boy, Crawfish Etouffe, and Key Lime pie. Delicious all around, this is the real deal. Small bar/restaurant with just a few tables, so often you have to wait, but it's always worth it. Authentic N'Awlins dishes always cooke to perfection. No pretense, just great food. Lots of natives eat here so that... More

We ate at Luizza’s twice while staying in the Bayou St. John neighborhood. Everything was delicious and very inexpensive for New Orleans. Best gumbo we had in New Orleans, loved the fried eggplant, and the oyster garlic po’ boy is absolutely delicious. We have also eaten at the nearby Parkway Bakery and the quality of their bread and “dressing” and... More

We found this on Trip Advisor. It is outside the tourist trap areas and is a true hole in the wall with some of the best food I've had. It is small and the locals fill it up. When the police eat there it has to be good. I had their shrimp po-boy special and my wife had the gumbo.... More

Honest to God this place was the best. Their Po Boy was off the chart good, Our private tour guide Cassandra, owner of "Soul of Nola" took us here and it was awesome, the place is filled with locals so we knew it was good from the get go. You have to try this place

As we approached the door to this restaurant, which from the outside looked like a dive, even by Nola standards, my husband asked if I still wanted to go in - and promised that if it was too skanky, we would leave. We had read a rave review so decided to "take a chance." So glad we did. Inside, it... More

Not to be confused with the other Liuzza's, nearby, this establishment is like many other New Orleans old time neighborhood bar eateries. Nothing that we ate here was particularly interesting. My fried green tomatoes were bland. My wifes onion rings were the same. The spaghetti alfredo appetizer was huge but not very tasty either. There was a Five Guys nearby.... More

A local friend introduced us to Liuzza's and we weren't disappointed. It is clearly a favorite of the locals for a good reason, great food and a friendly staff. The gumbo was some of the best we've ever had!
