Best shrimp po boy

We heard about this place so we drive out of our way to find out for ourselves... Yep. Best shrimp po boy I had in NOLA. Not fried but in a bitter gravy. Yum!

One of our tour guides recommended this restaurant for the Shrimp Po Boy. My husband loves seafood and ordered this, as well as the gumbo. He really loved them both. I ordered two specials, sweet potato fries (really delicious) and tomato salad (pretty awful, and I order these a lot- the tomatoes were very mealy). We sat ourselves at a... More

Worth the wait. Barbecue shrimp Poboy the absolute best in the city. They should charge more for it. Beer in the mug so cold. A must do if you a visiting. I need to tell the locals. They already know.

We went to Liuzza's two times after Jazz fest during our recent visit to NOLA. A fun street party with live music and great vibes awaited us each night. Five stars for the outstanding Bloody Mary that is served up with pickled green beans and olives! Highly recommended and one of the best Bloody Mary drinks to be had. Don't... More

Lukas and I get off the bus at the RTA stop at the small triangular shaped Fortier Park on the corner of Grand Route Saint John Street and Esplanade Avenue. We are less than a five-minute walk to this quaint, hopping bar/restaurant. This place sits on a corner of the intersection of Ponce De Leon and North Lopez Streets. During... More

Get the BBQ shrimp po-boy -- best in the city other than my homemade -- and a beer in a frosty mug. Listen into the bar conversations if you want to know the solutions to the world's problems and the most confident (if partially informed) predictions for the Saints next year.

We always take one of these gigantic and delicious sandwiches with us to City Park, where we spend the day hiking and enjoying art and nature. This is one of the city's tastiest concoctions. The bread is fantastic: crusty and soft all at once. Great flavor. Great enjoyment. Great tradition. Thanks for being our favorite sandwich spot since the 1950s.

This is where the locals eat. The barbecue shrimp poboy is the specialty and is something you will only get in NOLA. It is has nothing to do with barbecue sauce, and it is delicious. Catfish, fried oysters, and shrimp all cooked to perfection. Service is friendly.

We were first turned onto Liuzza's by a friend from Louisiana, who goes there every year when he attends Jazz Fest. If you are looking for yummy Creole food without pretensions or hype this is the place. The gumbo is savory, the beef sandwiches are great, and the barbecue shrimp po-boy is a meal and a half. Wash the whole... More

Been here several times. Food has always been excellent. Some of the best gumbo in La. Oyster po boy is excellent. Staff and service can be awkward, however, the food is well worth it. If I'm in NO, I make sure I eat here at least once. It's off the beat and path of the normal touristy places, but worth... More
