good food

Food was great, prices weren't THAT high (contrary to what other users were saying), service was commendable. We had three courses and drinks for $65. Never went there when it was basil leaf. Will def go back.

My family and I stopped here for lunch just because we saw it while riding the street car. What an unexpected great find. Wonderful change of pace from Po Boys and Creole cooking. Happened to be there for lunch. Their hot and sour soup was probably the best I've ever had (And I'm from New York). Food amazing, good portion... More

I loved my meal here. I have never had Thai but wanted to try a new place. Prices, service, and food...all excellent! Parking around the corner was easy, too. Like I said, the name has changed, so I checked addresses to be sure this is it. Very good!

This is a really nice Thai restaurant in New Orleans. The staff were very friendly. The food was well above average and the presentation was nice as well. The prices were also very reasonable.

Delicious food, fair price. The woo sen and Thai fried rice are good. But the restaurant name is Thai mint now.

My friend and I went to Basil Leaf, expecting authentic thai food. However the rice wasn't cooked right and it's cold. Curry was not spicy at all, though the thai server promised me to asked the chef to make it extra spicy for me.

I was here back in January 2008 with a friend who was at Tulane, and the food was fantastic! I've been to quite a few Thai restaurants in my day, and this one is right up there on the list of my favorites. Even though it was more than 4 years ago, I remember vividly exactly what I ate. The... More

Basil Leaf Thai and Sushi Bar was established in 1997. It is located in the Garden District/Uptown at 1438 S. Carrollton Ave. You take the St Charles streetcar to the end of the line. Then walk or catch a bus up Carollton about 8-10 blocks. It's on the corner of Jeanette. Familiar Thai dishes take on a new twist. The... More

Became the best Thai in the city after that place over by the old Rock n Bowl shut down (why can't I remember the name, it was one of our favorites). The last couple of times I was less impressed, still good though. Always seemed a bit pricy. You won't be disappointed, but the new (2nd) Sukho Thai on Magazine... More
