The host and my server (Heather) greeted me warmly and made me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived. It's a small restaurant so I waited outside, but only for a few minutes. The menu looked so good online that I strategically skipped breakfast, skimped on lunch, and arrived hungry for dinner. Heather helped me select wine - the albarino... More

This place is small but great. It is great for a date or just dinner with a few friends. The Brussel sprouts were so good and so was the sangria. Definite try the paella.

Wonderful place. Intimate, friendly, simple. You can take a look at the menu if you want, but i can give you two words right now: Shrimp Pasta... every bite is heavenly.

Delicious paella! Very small, not exactly appropriate for large parties or intimate dates. A little noisy when restaurant is full. Good prices! Food is fresh and authentic! The service could be better. Our waiter wasn't the best. He would leave the table while we were talking to him. He was a bit curt when inquired about the 30 minute wait... More

Great food and people! I love the bean and cheese burritos, yum! Lola's is like family, it is the Barrio's favorite gathering place.

Marvelous food! We had lots of tapas served in little black skillets. We enjoyed mushrooms and shrimp cooked with lots of garlic, bread, sangria and some of the best calamari I have ever eaten. What a fun place! Very reasonable prices and great service.

A small little neighborhood restaurant on Esplanade that was our favorite meal of the trip. And they allow takeaway sangria. That's a win no matter what else happens. But the beef tongue special, the paella, the whipped butter...I'm drooling over myself as I type.

We were early for dinner and when the bored-looking-busy-on-cell-phone hostess told us the time they will open, we decided to wait outside. A very rude man then walked by us, glared at the children who were sitting on the chairs and BANGED the door shut on out face as if we would sneak in without permission. After a short while... More

I just got back from two weeks in Spain and can tell you that Lola's is the best Paella you can get. It's a tiny place with space for only 38 people at one time. but worth it if there is a wait. Try the calamari. It's nothing like you've had before, it's a grilled calamari steak with this wonderful... More

Located on Esplanade Avenue a block below City Park and the museum, Lola's is a Bayou St John mainstay. The food is Spanish, loaded with garlic and cilantro, and it's one of the few places in town that serves three sizes of Paella (for individuals, couples, and groups). Especially good are the garlic soup and garlic shrimp, almond soup, and... More
