Located on Esplanade Avenue a block below City Park and the museum, Lola's is a Bayou St John mainstay. The food is Spanish, loaded with garlic and cilantro, and it's one of the few places in town that serves three sizes of Paella (for individuals, couples, and groups). Especially good are the garlic soup and garlic shrimp, almond soup, and... More

The flavor and texture of the paella is crazy good. I ate here with three other people and we all had the paella and loved it. Small but comfortable dining area with view of the kitchen. Was still BYOB in June in spite of alcohol being added to the menu.

It took us a while to pick the restaurant for our last night in NOLA and we chose Lola's. If we didn't the exact address we had missed it. It is such a nice little place. The staff is really friendly and the food as well as the housemade sangria was delicious. We definitely recommend that place to others. Enjoy!

Nothing fancy with great food and service in a fantastic location at a very reasonable price. Stroll the neighborhood before and after your meal. Perfect for first or fiftieth date. Can't miss the seafood paella for two. The pork chop at the table next to us looked amazing too.

We dropped by with friends for some paella, which was good but not great. We went for appetizers, 3 the gazpacho (4*), 1 garlic soup (3*), Three of us had the seafood paella, for me it was tasty, filling, rich with seafood, but a bit bland (3-4*). My wife had the scallops dinner special, which was exceptional (5*) Lola's is... More

Couldn't get into the restaurant of our choice so we walked across the street and tried this one and BOY WERE WE LUCKY!!!!! Delightful food choices.......pork, tuna, AND THE PAELLA is wonderful. The Calamari appetizer was yummy and the sauce was tasty.......of course, probably not the best alternative for a romantic dinner as LOTS of garlic!!!!!! All members of our... More

This hole-in-the-wall locals' dinner restaurant is consistently good time after time!! Love their paella (combo of course!!), house-made sangria, garlic soup (one of their specialties) & flan for dessert. Even though it's across town, I do refer my guests there often. WONDERFUL!!

There is nothing fancy about this place but the food is terrific! It feels like a true local foodie's spot. Service and staff are great. Would definitely return.

We were taken here by friends who apparently love this place, so maybe this was an off night. However the service was not great. We had to order our sangria 3 times before we received it and the waiter spilt the balsamic vinegar and oil over my place setting after practically throwing it me. Also for a salad, it was... More
