Very nice, attentive staff, interesting menu options

This is a pleasant place across from a large park, with valet service for car parking if you want, thought there were places on the street reasonably close this evening. Nicole, our server, was knowledgeable and very patient with the food allergies of one of us, and she worked with the chef to... read more

This was our second visit here - both times a business dinner with colleagues. Enjoyed the formal but easy-going ambiance and the location. The Oyster Pan Roast appetizer was fantastic - great starter for two. I had the Ribeye Steak Au Poivre - very nice sauce that only added to the flavor of an excellent cut of beef. Before I... More

We were in town and decided to get out of the French Quarter and made reservations at Ralph's. It is a nice restaurant and the staff were very pleasant. I ordered a small plate and was told that was really just an hors d'ourve. I know what a small plate is and still ordered it. My husband also ordered a... More

The food & service were excellent. Also the staff was wonderful in accommodating our last minute addition of an extra guest. Two at our table ordered the pepper-encrusted steak. It was too spicy for our guests & the manager took care of it. Very impressive! We look forward to our next visit!

Ralph's was a decent meal. We ate here on a Saturday night to celebrate getting through the holidays. Service was excellent, ambiance was classy and the food was decent. Here's the breakdown. I usually don't lead off talking about the service, but I found our waiter refreshingly good. He was prompt, unintrusive and friendly. I think his name was David.... More

My wife and I had reservations for a Monday night. Wait staff were attentive and service was good. Somewhat limited choices for the date we visited. Good selection of wines by the glass. The only downside was that we had valet parking and when we left it was raining cats and dogs. When the car was brought in front of... More

Located across from the oaks in City park, Ralph's has an attractive dining room and a hospitable bar. The staff are accommodating to special requests. The table service is correctly attentive. The Creole cuisine is tasty from fish to meat, and the kitchen prepares its vegetable dishes with care. The turtle soup is recommended as an appetizer. The restaurant has... More

Great food and service. Started with asking the bartender to make a specialty drink I like. She was helpful and fun in trying to figure it out with me. Then we were seated in the lovely dining room overlooking magnificent live oaks in the park. We started with a flounder appetizer wrapped in a light dough. It was great. Then... More

Staying in Lakeview

Neighborhood Profile
Lakeview
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.
