Step back in time as you step through the door into our beautiful, tiled dining room where New Orleans’ original sizzling steaks have been served since the doors opened in 1934. We offer prime, dry-aged beef that is cut in-house and cooked to your desire as well as seafood options such as broiled lobster tail and salmon to name a couple. Our commitment to quality does not end in the kitchen. Our extensive wine list consists of over 130 bottles from around the world. Our bar offers a wide array of quality liquors and liqueurs including single malt and blended scotches, bourbons, whiskeys, vodkas, and gins to name a few. We even have a specialty cocktail list which includes the Crescent City Martini, a Vojkovich family favorite that is made with a delectable, Croatian liqueur. Crescent City Steaks has been owned and operated by the Vojkovich family since Mr. John first opened the doors over 75 years ago, and his spirit lives on through the essence of family that transcends everything we do. It is our tradition to treat and care for our customers as family, and what better way to do so than to provide an exceptional meal in an atmosphere that rivals the comforts of home. So, come in; have a seat; and, become part of the family at Crescent City Steaks, the home of New Orleans’ original sizzling steak.

We met here at the suggestion of the people we were meeting with. Our steak was tender and flavorful. Steak prices averaged about $26, but they are plenty big. We had a t-bone, 2 strips, and a filet. Each had a salad. Caesar was very good. We had spinach augratin, lyonnaise potatoes, and... read more

Nicest food in NO, hidden treasure Friendly service , excellent food . Stumbled on it by strolling NO. Best T-bone by far for a very reasonable price.

It's been years since we've eaten at Crescent City.We went back this week and it still looks the same...private booths, tile floor and the juke box with the 45 records. They had over two feet Katrina water and came back. They have been open since 1934 by the Vojkovich family. The food, service and atmosphere are still great, and so are the... More

We were expecting great things from this restaurant and were very disappointed. We were a group of 12 so we were put in a separate room, the table wedged between the waiter's station and the bathroom. It took the waiter four tries to get my drink right. He was under trained and not very knowledgeable in his job. The place... More

Our first visit to this mid city steak house at the same location since 1934. Family run, they are known for doing things the same way for decades. In some respects, this is a good thing, in other ways, not so good. The food service industry has made some progress since the 1950s, tastes have changed, and expectations are higher.... More

Aged beef in an old-school atmosphere. The place is more or less unchanged from when it opened 80+ years ago. It's still run by the same family. This is the place that the original Ruth's Chris, about two blocks away, was trying to copy.

Excellent steaks, great onion, rings and sides, Old Fashions like they are supposed to be made with the old feel of the place all make it stand out as a dinning experience for steak in N.O. Now don't expect chrome and wood, this is traditioal decor that time has not changed much. I would also suggest Desi Vegas, Charlies, Mr Johns... More

Steaks were delicious, great potatoes au gratin. Love the atmosphere of a truly old New Orleans restaurant. Staff was friendly, was like having a meal at home with family and friends. One of the few places left with cozy booths! New Orleans people with hats and seersucker suits! Not a tourist place, more for the locals!

If you are ever hungry for a great tasting steak, but don't feel up to a "night-out' then Crescent City steak is the perfect place. While you could certainly have a great date night here, it doesn't' require being dressed to the nines, or cashing out a CD to eat here. We had an awesome tasting ribeye in the mid... More
