Description: Step back in time as you step through the door into our beautiful, tiled dining room where New Orleans’ original sizzling steaks have been served since the doors opened in 1934. We offer prime, dry-aged beef that is cut in-house and cooked to your desire as well as seafood options such as broiled lobster tail and salmon to name a couple. Our commitment to quality does not end in the kitchen. Our extensive wine list consists of over 130 bottles from around the world. Our bar offers a wide array of quality liquors and liqueurs including single malt and blended scotches, bourbons, whiskeys, vodkas, and gins to name a few. We even have a specialty cocktail list which includes the Crescent City Martini, a Vojkovich family favorite that is made with a delectable, Croatian liqueur. Crescent City Steaks has been owned and operated by the Vojkovich family since Mr. John first opened the doors over 75 years ago, and his spirit lives on through the essence of family that transcends everything we do. It is our tradition to treat and care for our customers as family, and what better way to do so than to provide an exceptional meal in an atmosphere that rivals the comforts of home. So, come in; have a seat; and, become part of the family at Crescent City Steaks, the home of New Orleans’ original sizzling steak.

We had the pleasure of dining here with our two children and would definitely return again when in NO. Our porterhouse was superb and the atmosphere really takes you back in time. The hostess was extremely friendly and took the time to speak with us about the area. Would definitely recommend!

One of our very favorite places to eat in New Orleans and we are picky being from here. The steaks are wonderful with sizzling butter on top and the German fries are really good. We love sitting in one of the private booths and the decor hasn't changed since 1934 when it opened. The restaurant is clean and the staff... More

This restaurant came highly recommended and did not disappoint. We were seated in one of the private booths which was a charming choice. The décor and setting was very interesting and conveyed an old world charm. We settled on the Chateau Briand (sp? - it was terrific no matter how it is spelled!!) Cooked to perfection with amazing sides. Its... More

This is apparently my Mom's new favorite place because we've gone back several times in the last month! Best tasting filet I've had in a long time. Courteous staff, consistent food prep/presentation, nice starter salads. I especially like the buttery garlic sauce you can get as an extra. We'll be back again soon!!

True to form Mardi Gras meeting place for locals. Great steaks and sides, reasonably priced wines, and a "you're sure to meet and see someone you know" atmosphere on a night when most places are closed. Well worth the wait--- and sure to become ever more popular as New Orleans Mid-City continues to revitalize.

Crescent City offers one of the best steaks in New Orleans. They offer a wonderfully dry aged steak cooked to your specific request. This is not the romance of the Chophouse or the elegant steakhouse setting of dicki Brennans but exudes the atmosphere of the bygone New Orleans neighborhood restaurant. From over a dozen visits I have never had a... More

You won't find a better steak for the money in New Orleans. Good service, an old time atmosphere, and a decent reasonably priced wine list. Not as fancy as some other steak houses, but the informal relaxed atmosphere is a pleasant change from other places.

It's the original sizzling steak restaurant. The reason they are still in business is because they continue to provide 4 star meals. Of all the steak restaurants in New Orleans, this is my favorite. The prices are very reasonable compared to all the others.

There is something different about Crescent City steaks and I'm not sure what it is. They are very fine and I always enjoy going there, but the steaks do not taste the same as in other venues. Just an observation, maybe not all that important, but pay attention the next time you go there and see if you agree. I... More

Over all the servers and bus persons were very helpful, attentive, and charming. They were friendly and laid back. They made us feel comfortable and at home. Ordered our steaks medium rare as is the correct way to order them and both came out perfect sizzling in butter. We had a Strip and a Ribeye. Cheaper than most steakhouses running... More
