Had the gator sausage as an appetizer and salad. Food was fresh and tasteful. Great atmosphere-fun..

My wife and I were looking for a different place to eat. We visit New Orleans on a regular basis. On Friday night August 15th we chose the Embers because they were not that busy. The bar didn't have anyone so we decided to sit here because the bartender was nice and friendly. She was very efficient and make very... More

I believe they have changed the name to Retrouvailles. We have eaten at Embers several times during our travels to New Orleans and when we were there in July went down Bourbon street to eat at Embers and found this restaurant in it's location. The dining area downstairs has been turned into a bar area and you are directed upstairs... More

Bourbon street is gross. But this is a cool, old style bar that is not loud with a bunch of crazy revelers. I did not eat there just had a drink at the bar and really enjoyed it.

Shrimp Remoulade, House Salad, and a Large Ribeye 16 oz. Having a relatively sparse menu, I expected it to be the "We do few things and do them extremely well" establishment. I thought that my steak was good, the shrimp were decent, and the salad was a salad. My server was genuinely friendly and helpful, and the balcony on Bourbon... More

Any time we go to New Orleans we like to have a diner here. The food is normal and good, nothing special. But it's so nice to be on a balcony above Bourbon Street. We were there three years ago for Halloween, it was so wonderful to see all these people from there, so much fun. We went back this... More

My wife and I were looking for a place to rest after walking Bourbon St. We wanted a place with balcony dining so we could sit outside in the warm sun and people watch. Embers fit the bill perfectly. We were a little taken back by the prices, but once again were pleasantly surprised to find out the $10 drinks... More

Pre-Katrina this was a must eat spot on every visit. The shrimp cocktail was fresh a few days ago-Disappointingly tough ribeye. What a terrible meal. So sad!

Right on bourbon st, balcony eating with good authentic food and strong drinks. If you go there with kids, go during the day, this street is not for kids in the evening. I had gumbo, I only wish there was more than what I got.
