Not what it use to be

Everything fried and not even close to the original quality first experienced in baton Rouge 50 years ago. This is a tourist restaurant, but if you like fried seafood it isn't bad. bar is the best part of restaurant and location very convenient.

A group of us had dinner at Ralph and Kacoo's December 7, 2014. EVERYONE of us raved about the dinner. I had the blackened shrimp and my husband had the blackened catfish. It was delicious, and full of flavor. IT was not too spicy but spicy enough to know you are eating cajun cusine. One of us had the Bloody... More

We just ate at Ralph & Kacoo's unaware that they are going out of business in a week. At some point, this might have been a good restaurant but now all that I can tell you is that the food is terrible and the service is sloppy and disorganized. Don't waste your time or money. Eat elsewhere. This place can't... More

Having been here years ago, we were pleased to find the same great service and food. Try the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. Didn't reall care for the taxidermy victims watching us eat, but other than that, very pleasant surroundings.

Went for dinner. Staff very nice and helpful. Thank you Hostesses for the tips! Hushpuppies very tasty. We had several dishes. Seafood platter with good variety and tasty. Gumbo with Cajun roux and I like Creole. Depends on your taste but I did not prefer. redfish blackened was very good and filling.

The food was average as was the service, I think you are paying more for the name than the quality of the meal.

The restaurant and bar were fairly busy, and yet, our experience was very positive. The Jambalaya and Shrimp Grill were outstanding. The desserts are made in house, with our favorite being the bread pudding. We paid extra for a scoop of wonderful ice cream. Even though the serving staff just found out they were closing, they were extremely attentive and... More

15 years ago, this restaurant was great. There was one large table and one other one occupied when we walked in. We looked at the menu and were about to walk out when our waiter finally came by with a promise of bread. We ordered, and half an hour went by before we got the rolls. Overpriced and overfried....we all... More

We had a great group dinner at Ralph & Kacoo's. There are dueling pianos playing a mixture of jazz, rock and contemporary music. There is a wide variety of food that, from what I tasted is very good. Lively and great for groups.

Have dined here many times and also in both Baton Rouge locations, but was a little disappointed this trip. Wait staff was excellent as usually but I think someone should have checked our food before it was served. Ordered a dozen raw oysters but most were about the size of a quarter. I was told they were medium size but... More
