This was a place that was recommended by our taxi driver from the airport. He suggested 4 places and this was one of the two that we actually were able to go to during our short stay. It is across from the House of Blues restaurant in the French Quarter. We stopped here for lunch, but they were closed. Olivier’s... more

With so many great restaurants to pick from in NOLA, AVOID this one. Food was tasteless! We ordered every course and each one was worse than the preceeding one. Do not be fooled by the man on the sidewalk hawking how great it is...keep walking!! more

As we walked through the French Quarter on Easter Sunday without reservations, we had no clue where to eat. It was our last night in New Orleans and we wanted to have a good meal without breaking the bank. Complicating matters is the fact that I have celiac disease (a gluten-intolerance) which means I can't eat anything with wheat, rye... more

We stumbled onto Olivier's after discovering Elaine's was closed on Sunday's. Overall it was very good, and blended creole and cajun flavors into the meals nicely, without over-spicing. Our meals came with salad, which I like, at no additional cost and had suprisingly delicious pickled okra as a garnish. Our waiter recommended an appetizer - the Eggplant Olivier - which... more

My wife and I dined at Olivier’s on Valentine’s Day 2009. It was easily one of the highlights of our trips to NOLA. We are frequent visitors and have experienced many of the restaurants the French Quarter, and NOLA in general, have to offer. Olivier’s is not the standard French Quarter establishment. This is a legitimate, family operated, Creole restaurant.... more

This restaurant is not good. Not by a long shot. I ate hear based on several reviews on other websites. Bad idea. If you consider yourself a foodie or even just enjoy remotely good eats, stay away from this place. Let me begin with the positives, our waiter. I believe his name was Garrett. He was very knowledgeable about the... more

Was in New Orleans for NADA and we stumbled into this restaurant one evening. I ended up eating there twice. When we got there there was a 15 minute wait so they told us we could wait in the bar across the street and they'd come over to get us. A few minutes later they sent someone over to let... more

it is not our thing as experienced restaurant owners to write a review about other restaurants but...... Sometimes you have bad luck in a good restaurant but in Oliviers we are sure that what we got on our plates was the best they could do. All food had the same taste, everything deep fried as in a cheap fish and... more

The best food I had during a trip to New Orleans. Walked by it ealier in the day and they has menus to take in a box outside the restaurant, so I grabbed one. I asked my favorite NO bartender, John at the Country Inn & Suites about it, and he said it was great. I went at about 8PM... more

I ate at Olivier's on a recent Sunday night. They were not busy and I was able to park very close, which is rare in the French Quarter. I had the gumbo sampler, which was very good. The shrimp creole had a very good flavor but the shrimp were slightly overcooked. Peach cobbler for desert was very good. The service... more
