Good Food, the bread pudding is a MUST

We were there for lunch. Both had the Turtle soup (AKA Snapper soup). It was really good. It was one of the best I have ever eaten. We then had Crabmeat Imperial & Crabmeat Au Gratin. Both were excellent. For dessert we both had Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce. There was a lot of bourbon in the... read more

Went here for dinner my first night in New Orleans with a friend who works in NOLA. He suggested the crabmeat au gratin. When it was brought to the table it looked, smelled and tasted heavenly! For dessert do NOT miss the bread pudding, I tried bread pudding at other places every night for the rest of my stay and... More

"Do you wanna eat good, or do you wanna eat like a tourist?" That's what my veteran co-worker would ask visitors to NOLA. If it was the former, we'd go to the Bon Ton Cafe. Family-owned and run for generations, it is the best combination mouth-watering Cajun and price you can find. The best piece of fish I ever had... More

We came here for dinner on our anniversary trip to New Orleans and enjoyed it so much. The food was delicious and the wait staff was so nice. We wanted to get their famous bread pudding, but were so full from all the yummy food we didn't have room. Still upset at myself for not eating it!

I cannot praise this place enough. It was absolutely amazing. The staff are so nice and really want you to enjoy your mean which is really hard not to do. We had the turtle soup with a touch of sherry which our waiter put in for us because I didn't know how much to put in. The gumbo, the jambalaya... More

A local hang out with lawyers and judges galore for Cajun cuisine to remember. Crawfish ettoufee(sp) off the charts. Have eaten here about 15-20 times and never been disappointed. Order Louisiana seafood for sure. You must have reservations.

The Bon Ton is unique among New Orleans's restaurants. The waitresses (and they are all female) wear white uniforms. Yesterday, I had the same waitress I had maybe ten years ago -- I remember saying to her then that I was surprised she was allowed to work there as she looked to be under forty years of age. Suffice it... More

We went out to this restaurant looking for a special dinner that would really capture the culture and taste of Nola. What we found was an over priced snooty restaurant that provided very small portions at a premium price. 38/bucks for about 6 oz of flake crab and cheese was a shock, at least they had bread and crackers to... The featured Redfish dinner was wonderful. It was grilled with Butter sauce and seasonings. The flavor was Amazing. It was served with Red-skinned New Potatoes. Highly recommend Bon Ton's and the Redfish.

Had our first Jambalaya here and it was great!! A little expensive for the amount but taste was excellent.
