Turtle soup great as usual, a bit too much salt for our group this time. Crab imperial and au gratin combo the right balance of fit and fresh and chez fix. Owners and staff great. Bread pudding and pecan butter ice cream with that bourbon sauce fantastic.

Agreed with other reviewers...hidden gem. We had the fried tidbits of catfish with amazing Alzina's sauce appetizer and it was very yummy. For dinner entrees with both ordered grilled filet of gulf fish with grilled shrimp and oysters, also very yummy. Get the onion rings for your veggie and save the Alzina sauce for dipping.

A hidden gem. We only found it because our airplane neighbor lives in the Garden District and gave us some spot on recommendations. Great service, gorgeous old building.

We love this restaurant. It is timeless, and the food is outstanding. All the servers are extremely friendly, and competent. We always are made to feel like returning friends. It is hard for us to vary from our usual orders, because they are so delicious. My husband always orders red fish Bon Ton, topped with lump crab meat, and giant... More

There is a reason this restaurant has not varied from its menu in over 30 years... why tamper with perfection? This was our first true dining experience in New Orleans, and we left feeling grateful to have run into a local who recommended it. The staff was warm, engaging and spent time explaining all the dishes, even though the restaurant... More

The Bon Ton's etouffe has been a favorite for many years, and it did not disappoint. The tiny young crawfish were amazingly tender (and plentiful), and the dish was kept simple so their rich flavor came through. The bread, soup, and vegetable side (stringbeans) were indifferent, which seemed surprising in such a notable restaurant in a town where food is... More

We have been enjoying meals at Bon Ton Cafe for over 30 years. Now that we live out of state we make this a priority stop on every visit to New Orleans. We were there with family for Easter weekend and couldn't have had a better meal. From start to finish it was delicious. Great food, fun and atmosphere.

Classic food and perfect old style restaurant. You can just feel the power meetings that must have happened here and still do. The food was great. A bit difficult to get a cup of tea, but I do not think they get much call for that.

We came for a late lunch on a Wednesday without a reservation. The owner (who we later realized was having lunch with her husband, the co-owner and another person, near the bar) greeted us warmly almost immediately after we entered and escorted us to a table. The restaurant was clearing out after lunch with a few tables lingering over dessert.... More
