I had been to NOLA a dozen or so times over the past 25 years, and was just introduced by lawyer friends to the Bon Ton Cafe after a court hearing last week (the judge and his clerks were also lunching there). This is a quintessential NOLA dining establishment, not touristy, mostly inhabited by "uptown" locals. The crawfish jambalaya was... More

My family was visiting New Orleans and after reading the reviews wanted real New Orleans old cuisine. The service was excellent. The food fair. What a disappointment. I ordered the crawfish dinner . It was flat, flavorful less, and clearly not the same as everyone raves. A big disappointment compared to other Nola eateries. Family members were underwhelmed as well.

If you are looking for real New Orleans étouffée, this is your place. The shrimp and crawfish étouffée is full of buttery deliciousness. Make sure you have the hard sauce bread pudding because it is to die for. You will never have a better bread pudding! But don't go looking for vegetables because they are non existent. Our meal came... More

Older quaint place, very stuffy atmosphere. Not a place for kids. Excellent service. I had the gumbo and jambalaya appetizers. Both were very tasty and if I had a complaint it would be both dishes had too much shrimp. Also quite expensive.

Bon Ton is a great old New Orleans Cajun style restaurant recommended to us by some local friends. It has an ambience which is pleasing to the eye and a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Bon Ton is obviously very much a local favourite although as tourists we were well received and treated. The food was generally well prepared, with generous... More

Bread pudding was delicious, I had a seafood salad, my husband had crawfish tails and all were delicious . We decided to take two meals back to friends at hotel! No problem!

Had a wonderful dinner at Bon Ton' s tonight. There was just 3 of us, my husband & a work colleague who had both eaten here before & raved about it. The restaurant is cozy and has perfect ambience. Nice beamed ceiling and exposed brick walls. Food was plentiful and very tasty. Catfish bite appetizer delicious. My husband had turtle... More

Several blocks off Canal Street in the CBD sits one of the City's most coveted and authentic cajun dining rooms. Coninuing family tradition, Debbie and Wayne Pierce serve local dining connisseurs and a knowing gourmet crowd some of the finest and generously portioned food in town. Their turtle soup is the meatiest and tastiest you will find. After the nutritional... More

On a recommendation from Le Pavillion our group arrived for dinner. The service was excellent as was the food from the soft shelled crab to the steak. A local patron was friendly enough to offer menu favorites, thank you " your honour" we were impressed.

Traditional New Orleans food with Bon Ton's usual heaping of crabmeat on everything. Delicious as always. What made this visit exceptional was that we had two Korean engineers with a limited command of English in our party of 6 and that the wait staff were VERY friendly and helpful in finding dishes the engineers would like. They loved the food... More
