We ate lunch here twice during our recent stay in New Orleans. The customers seemed like they were mostly local folks, many of whom seemed to work at the nearby courthouse. The atmosphere is very nice, but not glamorous. It's more of a checkered tablecloth than white tablecloth sort of place. The waitresses are polite, efficient, and very knowledgeable (friendly... We were here during Mardi Gras and with a group of 15. The service, food and atmosphere was fantastic! From appetizers to desserts, each dish was cooked to perfection. Loved the Red Fish Bon Ton! One of my best dinners in the Big Easy. Can't wait to go back.

Went here because of our concierge recommendation. Bad experience. First the server brought out the bread. It wasn't just a little stale. It was brick hard. Tried to rip it but it crumbled to dust. It came wrapped in cloth so the server could feel it through the cloth. I'm sure she was aware it was stale before she served... More

I did not get to visit this restaurant this trip but have eaten there many times before. I love this small restaurant and the food is great. The history is extremely interesting and the owners work there, which makes a great combination. It might not be a usual fancy choice for tourists, but it should be.

We had dinner there during the Mardi Gras weekend when the restaurant was extremely busy serving various Krewes. The food was very good and the service was excellent! The food is genuine, traditional south Louisiana cuisine. The ambiance is professional but casual, one that caters to the native rather than the tourist. We enjoyed talking to the staff who have... Not a tourist trap. Open only five days a week Monday through Friday mainly for natives and tourist if they can find out about it. Minimal if any advertising .very friendly service and outstanding food. Specializes in Cajun seafood. Have been several times and the owners Mr and Mrs. Pierce are delightful people. I recommended it very highly.

A friend recommended Bon Ton. It was all he said and more. So NOLA, including the greeting by the owner.

I have been to New Orleans many times, but somehow had never visited Bon Ton Cafe and so glad I finally made it! I finally did a little homework and researched good restaurants serving cajun food in Nawlins. Bon Ton consistently came up excellent and the reviews were spot on. I highly recommend the soft shell crab (seasonal), crab augratin,... More

We found this place to be overpriced for what we got. The catfish, steak and local fish were good but the restaurant is loud and crowded. Service was good.
