Excellent sushi, but upholstery is tired....

Hands down my favorite sushi in New Orleans. The fire roll, rising sun, and New Orleans rolls are all excellent. Their crunchy rolls have a nice buttery flavor. Service is always great and they have a good happy hour every day. I would give them 5 stars, but the furniture is all torn up and they... read more

Sake on Magazine Street, at the edge of the beautiful Garden District of New Orleans, is a high quality Japanese restaurant. The food is great, well served, the service kind and professional, the price very reasonable. High quality, high value.

The sushi at Sake can be fabulous! This is a very specific review of not just lunch but the Bento box lunch.I have come in more than once for this amazing deal and I am writing to remind myself: "too good to be true" IS always, in fact, too good to be true. This is a ton of delicious-sounding food... More

The Rocky II is what I had and it was very flavorful. At the end of the meal I had their Tempura cheesecake. It taste like they battered it in pound cake then fried it. Talk about Mmm..Mmm good!! Server gave great service and the manager stopped by to see how everything was. 5 stars for sure. I will be... More

Stopped here to grab a bite during happy hour: had peachtini and bellini 2x1 as well as 3 rolls: Naruto, Sake II and New Orleans roll. All 3 well executed, fresh, tasty and original. We paid for all 55$. The price was also very good. Highly recommended!

Very good Sushi! I had the Spicy Yellow Dragon. The shrimp fried rice looked great. No complaints here. Great place for lunch.

We were visiting New Orleans and toured the Garden District. We assumed that in such a upscale neighborhood you get upscale food. WRONG! The waitress run back and forth between taking our order and answering phone calls and delivering plated and food. RUDE!!! We ordered bento boxes, noodles and edamame. It took 45 minutes to get salad, miso soup and... More

I ate here with my family on our trip to New Orleans, and I have to say this place was great. The atmosphere is spectacular -- great ambiance, with lovely colorful glass chandeliers. The food is excellent as well -- the salad was very fresh, the goat cheese dumplings were sumptuous, and my teriyaki chicken was literally steaming on a... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighborhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
