I think we went at the wrong time, like 2 pm. It was quiet. There was a live band but they were fair. The drinks come in plastic cups. We did not eat here so cannot review food.
The taco "truck" inside Negril serves up delicious tacos, quesidillas, and burritos. The chicken are great, but the pork and pineapple are something special. The music is ok. It's reggae pretty much all the time.
Went to enjoy some music. Band was just OK. Bartender was so nasty and rude. Couldn't get out of there fast enough. After leaving a $4 tip for 2 drinks, bartender started scolding me about tipping. She thought I didn't tip and she wouldn't let up. She kept nagging and scolding- wouldn't listen. Don't go here! There are too many... More
Worth the stop for the music and atmosphere. We've gone two nights in a row. The place was packed with locals and tourists alike. A good time was had by all. Let the good times roll.We enjoyed the different bands. Both had very good musicians, We danced and had a great time. Food was so so. Long live Frenchmen Street... More
Cafe Negril is a long walk from the Bourbon Street area, but it's worth it. The live music is great and the drinks are decently priced. Admission is free but the seating is very limited except at the bar. Also, they have an ATM inside. My girlfriend and I walked around the neighborhood looking for an ATM then we finally... More
Although we're frequent visitors to New Orleans, somehow we had missed the whole Frenchmen Street experience. I'm glad we righted that with this trip. Cafe Negril was one of our favorite places: great bands, reasonably priced drinks, and even a funky little Central American 'restaurant' inside--with really good food! There was no cover charge and they didn't harass patrons about... More
went there on a Saturday night, the band was excellent. the beer was decently priced, 4 bottles was $18. didn't eat but heard the tacos there were really good. not many places to sit down, but with the good music you didn't want to sit.
The bar service is the worst I have ever Experience! The bartender took so long to get me one beer and after i pay she flicks me off and throws my beer way. Worst service don't waste your time here.
these were the best tacos I have ever had. Made to order right in front of me while I listened to a live band. 3 for $10 my choice of shrimp or fish. Delicious! Not a lot of sitting space. Drinks were reasonable priced.
