Hidden gem!!

Great Mexican food or pizza in the back of what looks like a live music venue. You'd never know they have a kitchen from the outside, it looks like a place for live music...but the food is great and cheap!!

Its a second time we visited this bar within last week. On each occassion band is awesome! Today we went first to different bar on same street where bartender made us feel very unwelcome. We came back here. Lovely lady behind the bar served us immediately with smile. I explained i would like sweet fruity drink and started explaining potentially... More

Please start reading this review by removing the "1" star that I had to select, and make this a "0" star rating... We went on Tues. 3/10/15, probably around 11pm and stayed until they closed a little after 1am. Yes, I know you are thinking "Why did you stay if you gave this place zero stars?" I will get to... On at least one night per visit to New Orleans, we spend a night on Frenchmen. We always seem to end up at the Cafe Nigril, drawn in by the music emanating from within. Always great rock and roll. Always a friendly crowd, reasonable drink prices, and a small kitchen counter for those who have "the munchies," serving pizza, tacos... More

This place is a "happening", hoppin bar. On a friday night, I wandered in here around 10pm because the line was too long waiting for a table at Adolfos, and I was famished. A neon sign at the end of the bar, declared GRILL OPEN. There were 3 bands scheduled to play at Negril, and I caught the tail end... More

Great bands and live music. The drinks are a bit overpriced. $7 for a very small mixed drink...yikes! But if you're just going to listen to the bands it's well worth it.

Nice vibe here, have always seen good bands. Never had any food, but a good, open place to see music. And people are standing, so you should do a little dancing. Good sound system: Great mix, solid, clear, not blasting.

The drinks here were strong, but still fairly oriced. The crowd is mixed because some are dressed casually or dressy casual, so take your pick and you'll fit right in either way. I love how this place has a TV so you can watch the band of the evening. Something not all bars have.

If you need a quick meal for a good price, check out the taco bar inside Cafe Negril. its like having a tack truck inside a reggae club.

Let me start by admitting we spent nothing here -- which was great for us, since we'd had dinner down the street and wanted to take in as much of Frenchmen Street as we could without going broke and getting stuffed/drunk. We just heard some good music and wandered in. It looks like a dive from the outside, but it's... More
