Top Gyro

I love Gyros. I chose Greece for my honeymoon primarily to eat Gyros. Yesterday while strolling through the Quarter I stopped at Ali BaBa for Gyro. Without question one of the top Gyros - lettuce was green and crisp; tomatoes were red, moist and crisp; perfect amount of Tzatziki. I live in... read more

Seated right next door to Pat O'Briens, this is the perfect pit stop to grab a gnosh before going to stand in line at O'Briens for your stupid tourist hurricane glass.

We're talking about a cash-only counter take-out around the corner from Bourbon Street. It should be cheap and mediocre. Instead, it's cheap and awesome! It's the perfect spot to stagger in to for a hot, satisfying meal. Fresh, warm pita, lightly crisped gyro piled with veggies and not overloaded with tatziki... This is good stuff served by genuinely nice people.... More

After a night of many many drinks we were in search of late night grub, I refused to even look at a Lucky Hot dog, so our search brought us to Ali Baba. it was a great option and the gyro was very good.

Despite the choice of eateries in the French Quarter, we ate here twice. You can eat as big or small a meal as you want. Fresh salad ingredients and a good choice of Middle Eastern foods. Service was very friendly and quick allowing you to move on quickly to your next music venue. Photos of the owner included photos taken... More

We were pleasantly surprised because this place was small and didn't really stand out. We were hungry and decided to get a gyro to take back to our hotel room. It was so fresh and delicious we knew we had made the right choice. There isn't a lot of room for dining in but for fresh food to go it... More

I was super hungry and looking for vegan fare late Sunday evening on Bourbon Street. Spotted this small place and had a delicious falafel wrap (made it vegan by asking for hummus instead of yogurt sauce). Food was great. Didn't give this place four stars because the counter worker/cook didn't speak English very well and we had a hard time... More

Excellent food! I have been here on 4 different occasions and every time the food was delicious. There are five in our family so we often order different plates. The gyros are great, the schwarma is good as well. Their chicken strips are great for picky eaters. The combo platters are amazing. The food bar doesn't look like much but... More

Best Gyros ever!!!! Our group went back to this place twice in one night, that's how good they are! They don't have any tables to sit down at, but that doesn't matter because they are too good to pass up!

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
