Best place we ate at in New Orleans

Loved everything about this place - great ambiance, super friendly and efficient staff and incredible food. We ate at many fine restaurants in New Orleans but Atchafalaya was our hands-down favorite. We were greeted by the owner when we arrived. He was adorable, personable and super helpful. Our waitress had only been working there a month but she was absolutely perfect (friendly, knowledgeable and attentive). The steak tartare wasn't on the menu that evening but the... More

Of all the brunch places I've gone in NOLA this may actually be the best - and we've done all the classics like Commander's Palace & various other Brennan family establishments. Atchafalaya has much more of a Cajun flare but not so Cajun that the casual brunch guest cannot find something s/he loves. We had a Monday brunch there and... More

I was very pleasantly surprised by Atchafalaya because it's basically smack dab right in the middle of houses. I have now made it a "must stop" location for me on my trips to NOLA. We came for brunch on a Monday and (we made reservations thankfully) there was line waiting for the place to open. That's s a really good... More

One of the best meals I've ever had. The owner, Tony, was very welcoming. Our waiter, Jake, was hilarious and knowledgeable. We let him pick several of our food and drink items and he was spot on. As a table, we split four appetizers, four entrees and four desserts. I would not want to decide which was the best. But,... More

We did not have a reservation but wanted to try brunch here while visiting New Orleans so we arrived 20 minutes before they opened and "got in line" hoping we could get an outside table. We were lucky and got seated inside as soon as they opened! What a fabulous brunch. My husband and I enjoyed the Bloody Mary bar... More

The atmosphere, service, and food were outstanding. I have read the other reviews and am puzzled. The food is clearly described (lump crab on the amazing fried green tomatoes) and the servers were amazingly attentive. Perhaps some understanding of Southern culture is in order. We don't do anything quickly in New Orleans. Life is at a slower pace. If you... More

My husband and I went here for a date night. We arrived a little early and spent some time at the bar. The bartenders were very knowledgeable and friendly. We were seated right by the kitchen, but it was not too bad. I got the shrimp and grits. The food was good, but not super hot. I will say that... More

The place is kinda "trendy", no big deal and it is kinda pricey, but hey, what isn't - right? We were seated and served our appetizer in a timely fashion. I kid you not, it took OVER AN HOUR to receive our dinner! I am not joking! I actually told my husband we should just pay for the appetizer and... More
