We met a few family members here, and were thrilled with everything from the cocktails to dinner and dessert! The noise level was easy to relax and carry on a conversation. Service was impeccable. As a chef, I have extremely high expectations, and Atchafalaya exceeded them throughout the night. We will definitely revisit this little neighborhood gem!

Recommended by friends who live in New Orleans upon our 5th visit. Relatively new but not easy to visit without a car. Food was excellent and imaginative. I had the fried green tomatoes and the hearty pork belly and tuna entree. My vegetarian wife had the goat cheese salad and risotto - she commented that the latter was exceptionally delicious... More

Several years ago, soon after it opened, we went from central New Orleans to the edge of the Garden District for an unforgettable meal at Atchafalaya. On this return trip to New Orleans, we wanted to see if the restaurant had retained its charm and talented kitchen. We were not disappointed, in fact we were delighted. The four dishes we... More

I found Atchafalaya on Open Table as I was looking for a good brunch place outside of the French Quarter. We arrived a little early for our reservation so we grabbed a Bloody Mary while we waited. The Bloody Mary bar was awesome. They offer a variety of mixes plus a host of additions - bacon, pickles, asparagus, horseradish, hot... More

We went here for an early Sunday brunch. Despite not having reservations on the day of a Saints home game, our party of three was seated within 15 minutes. The menu offers something for almost every palate, and the selection of drinks available is excellent and a little offbeat: the Sazerac made with duckfat-infused rye is a killer combo! My... More

Wonderful meal with interesting menu items. Very much enjoyed the wine and drinks also. Great server and reasonable noise level. My wife loved her shrimp and grits.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Atchafalya yesterday - the menu was really interesting and the food was delicious. Our party of four enjoyed the gumbo (best I've ever had), the fried chicken and biscuits, the duck hash and the shrimp and eggs. While we would have been very satisfied with the food, well-crafted cocktails and Bloody Mary bar, it... More

Atchatafalaya serves a modest menu of really good food, which I like. It's nice to be presented with a reasonable range of choices without being overwhelmed by 50 different things. My inclination is the smaller range of choices means the chef has paid very particular attention to great combinations of flavors, well-presented, in portions that are satisfying without being painfully... I have read that Swordfish is the best tasting fish if prepared correctly. As with most fish it is usually overcooked. I had marinated swordfish on a cruise specialty restaurant and it was great. Swordfish does have it's own unique flavor. Luke said people say Swordfish is the best fish because they don't like fish. It is the fish most... More

We were here in 2012 and had a wonderful, leisurely brunch and chat with the owner. I reviewed Atchafalaya then and can't tell how wonderful it was to be back! First, we were so thrilled to see how successful they had become ( and perhaps a little disappointed 'our find' had been discovered). I had the Eggs Atchafalaya and there... More
