Join the Jamila's family. you're welcome

All of the appetizers are superb. The bread options are great, but don't fill up. The crawfish bisque is smooth and full of juicy crawfish tails. The salon or filet are reliable options, but you can enjoy lamb, fish specials or couscous. The owner is delighted to see you. There is outdoor... read more

Walking two blocks from street car stop in quiet neighborhood we found a real treat - tasty food, belly dancing for entertainment and superb staff with personal attention from the owner. It was great fun and we will definitely return. Not recommended for anyone wanting a quiet evening's dinner as the place rocked!

Husband and wife team insure a great meal and experience. He runs the front of the house. She is the chef. Nothing earth shattering, but good quality food with warmth and hospitality. Try the salmon.

Went on a Sunday night based on Tripadvisor reviews and it was a fantastic experience. First, Jamila's is not in the heart of New Orleans--it's actually near Tulane so there is a college vibe in this part of town. Moncef and his wife (Jamila) are the owners and it is a very cozy, casual Med restaurant. The food was excellent... More

Jamilas is a quaint restaurant on Maple Street Uptown New Orleans. It is one of the Gems in this neighborhood. The Restaurant is family owned and operated. The menu is a combination of fresh local ingredients and Tunisian Flavors. Chef Jamila is one of a kind serving family recipes. The ambiance is romantic and comfortable. Reserve a booth by the... This is the second time our family has dined here and both times the food, ambiance and service were impeccable! This is a small restaurant with attention to detail. Dining here with friends, family or business associates who are looking for a cozy, relaxed and totally delicious evening are sure to be pleased. The seafood is fresh, the lamb is... More

My daughter and I had been driving around looking for a place to eat when we stumbled upon Jamila's Cafe. Talk about great find! Moncef came out and assured me the food was homemade - he had us at "hello." The crawfish, arichoke and spinach bisque is delightful, I mean divine! The garlic compound butter, warm pita and crusty bread... More

Great food! One of the rare tunisian restaurants in the world that actually serve you authentic food! I know I'm Tunisian so I'm quite picky!!!! The owners are wife and husband Jamila and Moncef. Aunt Jamila is the chef! The brik au thon was just perefct with the egg yoke leaking as you bite on it just like back home!... More

This place is a GOLD MINE. I stumbled upon it online, searching for north African restaurants, as my husband is from Libya and really misses mom's cooking (yeah, I'm not too much in the kitchen!) Turns out, it's less than a mile from my home. After weeks of trying to find the time to make it, we wound up there... More

We were reading the outside menu card when the owner Moncef came out to greet us, inviting us to try the restaurant. From the time we sat down, he offered us warm, friendly service. His wife Jamila is the chef, and she delivered up some of the best lamb dishes we've ever eaten. My partner had the Lamb Kebobs and... More
