My husband, myself and our dog Mickey had a quite wonderful experience at Jamilas. We had a super fantastic crawfish, zucchini and spinach bisque. We also had a great traditional lamb dish, raised to a new level of perfection. The chef made a special bouillabaisse for me. It was quite delicious and so nice of her. I really appreciated it.... Moncef and Jamila make us feel so at home every time we go...we try to go there every time we go to NOLA-- about 2-3 times a year. The space is comfortable, the food is delicious. The Crawfish, Zucchini & Spinach Bisque is TO DIE FOR. The merguez is fabulous. I've eaten there 10 or 12 times and have loved... More

This place really is a gem, nestled in the Uptown area, it's been around for years The ever present Moncef was our waiter. He is also the owner, the other half being Jamila, his wife, who cooks everything. The service is so warm and accommodating. They encouraged us to take our time and dine slowly, which I love! Too many... More

Fantastic food. I have never been treated with such amazing hospitality anywhere else in my life. This is the best secret gem in New Orleans. I can't remember the names of all of the dishes, but order all of them. They are heavenly. They also frequently have live entertainment which is a fun festive bonus.

Jamila's is an oasis of healthy choices in a city populated with fried foods. This was my first time eating Tunisian food. As its geography would suggest, kind of Moroccan and kind of Mediterranean. Salads with fruit and nuts. Lamb cooked in a tagine served with rice pilaf was very good. We finished the meal with pastries - baklava and... More

We had two dinners at Jamila's and enjoyed being there a lot, since the owner really goes out of his way to make the customers feel welcome. The place was full both evenings and the vibe is nice. The food was average to good, with very few vegetable choices. Go there for the atmosphere, the mussels, the lamb, and the... More

My wife and I visited NOA last week and ate at five different restaurants. Jamila's was my personal favorite. It was the second time I've eaten there. First, it's fun to get there by taking the St. Charles Street trolley to the end of the line and then a short walk through a quiet, tree lined neighborhood. Second, the food... More

A really cozy little almost hole in the wall restaurant run by a Tunisian family. The food is awesome and the service is more awesome. Very friendly staff to say the least and you will enjoy the ambiance. It is nothing flashy, but very comfy. We loved the food served at this place. We were two couples but wanted to... More

Great attention to detail..... The hosts are the owners; unique fresh, down to earth food. have to try the couscous..must do the lamb chops" best in town"(don't tell Susan spicer...) ask Mounsieur Monseuf for a selected bottle of french bubbly... you will remember it.

I was really looking forward to trying the food here. Unfortunately, the food was really under seasoned. We were a party of 5 and none of us really liked the our entrees. The bisque was good though. The place is really cute though and the owner, who was also our waiter, was very attentive.
